I think, just in terms of managing the expectations of the consumer, being transparent about clone characters (e.g. by making them skins) makes the best impression.
But they aren't clones though. At least they weren't in brawl.
Should note I loved the pants of Borderlands 2 and I have recently gone from a deep pure dislike of Diablo 3 to "boy, this game pretty much rocks now" so that gives you an idea of where I stand. I know the loot system is less giving than either of those two but that doesn't bother me a great deal.
Destiny is not a loot driven game. It is a cooperative game that happens to have loot. If you are expecting loot drops every couple of minutes and expect to see crazy gear, you're going to be disappointed.
I don't know man. Those exotics are pretty awesome. I've lust over my teammates' Hawkmoon, The Last Word, Thunderlord and Ice Breaker quite a few times. I'm also really into that Invective I got and when I see Patience And Time showing up on the store I'll buy it at any price. Loot in this game is pretty alright. I've played diablo 3 to completion with some friends in coop and the loot in that was plentiful but boring as hell. It was a bunch of cold numbers put into a damage and defense equation. When you get The Last Word in Destiny the game turns into a western and your character becomes revolver ocelot.
Be into the competitive halo multiplayer to some extent since it's similar to destiny's competitive multiplayer and helps alleviate the grind after lvl 20 by a lot.
Really like the standard FPS gameplay of Destiny
Be into doing missions in coop. The best part of the game is the raid and it's super coop focused.
Doflamingo and his crew is wonderful, and they get better as everything moves along. It's a messy arc, I don't think there were this many factions and named characters represented even in the battle at Marindeford and there's about four flashbacks, but I love it. Think the ship has sailed on having enough time to do proper one-one-one duels ever again, though. Way too many characters to have one of the straw hats face off against each of the opposing captain's officers for a couple of chapters at this point. I guess I always thought the running and quick fights would be temporary, but they haven't really done duels since the Thriller Bark Arc, and that was years ago.
Luffy has been in plenty of long fights since Thriller Bark but I agree we're in dire need of other crew members in high stakes fights. They've been battling underwhelming, incompetent henchmen for way too long. There's no reason to worry anyway, Smoker, Trafalgar Law and other secondary characters have been in good fights recently. I bet they're just saving the full reveal of their new ability sets for worthy opponents (especially Zoro).
As long as it's functional, I don't care. The UI in skyrim was gorgeous but man was it a limiting pile of flaming trash. Shortcuts for a maximum of 3 or 4 weapons, spells or items. I ginormous list of items in alphabetical order. It was an unusable but vital part of the game.
