I've never played a 3D picross game, but I owned picross.com from 2004 to 2010 when Nintendo did their Nintendo thing and took it from me. You can still find hundreds of free pokemon or zelda or whatever puzzles from the search page at http://www.heroglyphix.com/search.php.
We actually went to a lot of trouble to keep the site 800x600 resolution for the Wii Opera browser and made it wii-mote friendly with javascript. The term "picross" was becoming genericized, so Nintendo went out grabbing sites and bullying fans. I'd probably love Picross 3D, but I can't bring myself to buy it. Eff Nintendo, Eff'm hard.
I think it legitimizes my playthrough to see guys with 20+ kills on my memorial wall. Sometimes veterans die. Take the loss and recover. Almost all of Dan's deceased are 1 or 2 kills only.
It's a really spectacular game, but there's no excuse for all the technical problems. The way it hitches on my machine would make it unplayable if it were an FPS. As a turn based game, it's just an annoyance though. Gaaa.... wish I was playing it right now!
Wow. Vinny is a little looney in this one. They get off topic quicker, stray farther and stay there longer. Weird. I choose to believe that whatever screwed up the podcast recording yesterday actually screwed up lots of other stuff so Vinny is recording this on friday morning after already having been up more than 24 hours, having worked all night fixing whatever broke.
Until there is a better theory, we'll have to consider this the truth.
