They are fast as lightning so you have to move to them quickly! If you manage it, you'll break out into a battle. They select your character for you(For instance, in order to get Reptile's classic skin, your character is always Kung Lao and for Scorpion it's Sektor etc etc). You have to beat them with a fatality in order to get the classic skin. Remember that! MUST BE FATALITY.Once you get one though, it takes a good long while for the next character to appear. So you might as well just go for another few hours before looking again. "
