@TheBeast: That does not appear to be working for me either. Do you hit next until you get to the final page then hit save? If so, that is what I tried with the same result as before. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm running Firefox 3.5.3 on Snow Leopard. I have tried multiple times to update the preferences for my recently published guide. I was able to update the completeness without issue, but I cannot update the "Can Other Authors Publish?" checkbox or the license which I would like to change to by-nc-sa. I update either or both of these fields, click "Save," and find that the former values have been restored upon returning to the preferences. Any help is greatly appreciated!
"I also wish I could page through all my quest waypoints while the map is open instead of having to go back to the quest log, identify the quest you want to track, then return to the map again to see where the quest takes place."
That would be brilliant! I would like to see a chest that is shared amongst your characters so you could pass weapons on to your alts. I would also like achievements and challenges to display updates on-screen as quests do. For instance, I am just a few melee kills from having 50 (which completes a challenge). For each melee kill I get, a message at the top of the screen would give the name of the challenge and my progress towards it.
I too am hooked on this game. I just leveled up to 20 last night. My wife and I have played co-op together for about 13 hours. We also have alts (mine is level 6, hers is level 7). The last time I felt this way about a game was Fallout 3. Sure, that wasn't so long ago, but I can't remember the last time I felt this way before that game.
"...unless you already have a PS2 (and even if you do) I'd hold off until Sony smartens up about backwards compatability (which i've heard murmurs of) "
While I certainly hope for this, I have a feeling backwards compatibility is never coming back.
@switchit: It is very similar and very different at the same time. For me, the story isn't nearly as engaging as Oblivion or Fallout 3. My playtime in this game is contingent upon the mechanics which are thankfully quite fun. Don't get the game for the story. However, I wouldn't avoid it just because you only plan to play single player. I have had quite a lot of fun leveling my alt solo. The bosses are harder so you might need to grind an additional level or so before you try to take them out. That's not a dealbreaker by any stretch.
@ouvintes: Thanks for your impressions. I own this game but haven't yet installed or played it. I'm hoping this weekend will be my opportunity to do that. Based on your description, I think it is well worth the price of admission.
I preordered about a week ago. I think I may go for the female character. I tend to stay away from the brutes as I don't find them very interesting. I don't care so much about the MMO version although I would like some co-op in this game. I was pretty excited before, but, having seen the quick look, I'm really anxious to try it! I just don't know when I will have the time. I'm sure I will at least install it tonight, but Borderlands is in the process of eating my life at the moment.
For anyone who may be interested, I fixed this problem. I got my transfer cable in the mail last night. I hooked up the new hard drive (the one with the Borderlands save) to my computer and used Codejunkies' Xport 360 software to browse the drive and find my save file. I copied this onto my computer, hooked up the other hard drive (the old one with all my stuff on it), and copied the file back onto it. It's not quite that simple, but that's basically what I did. It worked like a charm. I plan to post a guide to show how to transfer save data from one hard drive to another using this method.
