Same here. It worked fine yesterday afternoon, but now it 's exhibiting the same symptoms where it closes after it's loading the first page for a few seconds. This is happening to me on two different phones and reinstalling the app had no effect.
Didn't try a restore on either phone but I doubt that would resolve an issue for 1 app.
So far I'm really enjoying the app. It's a good start but there is plenty of room for improvement, here's a few that really stand out.
New icon. The icon doesn't need to spell out "giant bomb", it's already on the label underneath the icon. Use the luchadeer or the little cartoon bomb mascot instead.
Encyclopedia pictures. I want to be able to browse through the photos attached to each encyclopedia entry not just the ones used in the entry.
User comments. Seeing user comments for an article is an important part of the GB Community experience, it would be nice if the first 10 were attached to the bottom of the article with a "load 10 more comments" button at the very bottom.
Achievements. The Giant Bomb folks spent a lot of time developing this new way of connecting users with their achievements and even created a space for people to discuss specific achievements. If I'm really jonesing for some help on a specific achievement I'd love a way to be able to quickly use the iPhone app to look at the achievement entry and look at the user posts to for hints or tips to unlock it.
User profiles. Let me check out my user and other user profiles, did that wiki sub go through yet? How much closer am I to that holy grail 5000 point score? Why does Brad keep sending me those awkward pictures of himself?
Having these features would transform this app from being just a gaming news/video app into a full-fledged gaming sidekick: my Giant Bomb ambassador whenever I'm AF(the traditional)K.
The displayport is only for pushing video OUT of the macbook and onto an external display NOT for pushing a video signal into the MacBook.
You can get a device like the elgato eyetv or some other usb video capture device to get the video from your PS3 onto the display of the MacBook. If you shop for one make sure it has a game or zero-latency mode. Most capture cards have a slight lag to them that will make for an unbearable gaming experience.
Apple Inc. and Apple Computer Inc. need to be combined. Apple Computer Inc. dropped "computer" out of their name during MacWorld 2007 because the company no longer focuses solely on computers but has expanded their focus on the music and mobile phone industries.
