PRAISE MS!

Why hello there, nice of you to visit me on my nice new profile page on Giant Bomb! Nice to be here with you guys, but lets cut the bull, get straight to business. A vivid Xbox owner, MMO freak, Steam fan etc etc, my titles are one and all. With my newly acquired personal computer with some nice specs (3.0ghz AMD Athlon II X2, 4.00gb RAM, 1gb gfx card etc etc), I've finally got the chance to get back into PC Gaming...Huzzah!

Starting with Dawn of War 2 alongside its first expansion, Chaos Rising, and Empire: Total War (I'm a Brit so naturally, I want to play a game where I can dominate the world as the Brits), I've made my first foray into the heart of modern PC gaming...and I'm quite impressed. Since my last entry with Dawn of War: Soulstorm on the computer, it seems to me that we are making progress on what has in the past few years been called the decline of gaming on our personal computers. However, I disagree, on any game I play online, each has a dedicated following and I'm never left waiting for long on matches in games that no body even talks about anymore. Yes, its true that it isn't as popular as it once was, but surely we can't call this a decline if nobody's leaving our side of the fence?

On to MMOs, I'm a huge fan. If a new one comes out, you can expect my opinion on it if it catches my interest. Warhammer: Age of Reckoning, huge fan of it guys, and if you're looking for a new MMO, I'd suggest you try it, especially now with its unlimited free trial. With its dwindling player base, it certainly needs a welcome boost to its population. WoW's being a bitch about my account so it can go to hell...LotRO, 'sigh', where did Turbine and Codemasters go wrong in what was a great game? Finally, Guild Wars, great game for five minutes, gets boring after that...unless you have friends with which to play, then it becomes a very enjoyable game.

Regardless, lets talk about the current 'PSN Crisis'. Its been down what? 7 or 8 days? Sony have taken active steps to ensure that personal data is protected and are taking steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again in the near future. So you've been going without your online for that time? Some people are even going as far as demanding compensation for it. That's just ridiculous, unless you're a PSN Plus customer, you really shouldn't be complaining. PSN is a free service, so why should a mass player base get compensation for something they never paid for in the first place? And before you start to squabble, yes I have a PSN account and yes, my personal info is now in the hands of some hacker out there and I'm none too pleased either, but I'm glad that Sony is actually doing something about it instead of just saying 'Shit happens' and passing the blame on. Blowing things out of proportion is one thing, but for all you Sony fans out there who want monetary compensation...Just think, if everyone out there who is in bother gets it, you can kiss your ass goodbye to any new Sony consoles.

Finally, my Xbox 360...The love of my life. I'll leave it at that, but expect a review or two within the next while about several upcoming games, particularly the Battlefield 3 beta and Brink which (in my opinion) is shaping up to be a great game. PRAISE MS!
