I was browsing the releases of Blackjack - http://www.giantbomb.com/blackjack/3030-107/releases/

And it says the release is 1994. If you hit edit you will notice it's indeed a fuzzy date with only 1994 entered as information.

However, if you call the same release with the API - http://www.giantbomb.com/api/release/3050-96606/?api_key=(your key)

So will you get no expected_release_* data but you will get a release_date

<release_date>1994-01-01 00:00:00</release_date>

I find this strange and misguided. How should I know that this is a fuzzy date?

Unless you treat known expected_release_month, unknown expected_releast_day as an expected_release_quarter for the expected_release_month?

Please tell me if that's the case.

I'm currently looking on this game: http://www.giantbomb.com/dragon-fantasy-book-ii/3030-39473/
And it says "First release date: Q2 2013"

While browsing the same game with the API: http://www.giantbomb.com/api/game/39473/?api_key=yourkey
You only get:
<expected_release_day/>
<expected_release_month>4</expected_release_month>
<expected_release_quarter/>
<expected_release_year>2013</expected_release_year>
<original_release_date/>

Which doesn't match up with the "Q2 2013" information.

Ah, I didn't notice the new expected_release_day field. Thank you!

Hello!

The "Game Details" panel for http://www.giantbomb.com/starcraft-ii-heart-of-the-swarm/3030-24078/ have the information "First release date: March 12, 2013". However, http://www.giantbomb.com/api/game/3030-24078/?api_key=[insert your key] have no data on "original_release_date".

Investigating further in specific releases, such as http://www.giantbomb.com/starcraft-ii-heart-of-the-swarm/3030-24078/releases/#toc-release-125223 have the information that "Release date: March 12, 2013". But once again, http://www.giantbomb.com/api/release/3050-125223/?api_key=[insert your key] have no data for "release_date".

The release date data in the API is missing. But visible on your pages.
