I wonder if this was something that I've been dealing with and not realizing as well. I certainly haven't been encountering a ton of character interactions bits outside of a handful, though I want to say sitting down with Abigail was one of them.

I don't want to derail this into a general bug report thread, but I will say the more problematic bug I was running into after finishing a quest for John was my Arthur would continuously draw the sawed-off shotgun without me prompting if no gun was equipped, usually after about ten seconds. Which made it hard to travel through town without all of the sudden intimidating everyone. The other weird aspect of this was that I could then no longer equip that weapon from my wheel. I think it ended up going away but I also haven't had time to play much since that started happening.

I'm also interested in joining a casual Giant Bomb clan, don't know if there was a new one created for the PS4 yet.

I had imported Taiko no Tatsujin for the PS4 last year, and it was a great purchase. I'm guessing it's just a moderate re-localization of it since that game already had nearly complete English translations available? All I know is that Welcome to Japari Park is super fun and I'm glad more people get to play it if that is the case.

Also, I never got DLC to be a thing for my copy and I assume that it's because I would need a Japanese PSN account. I wonder if I could buy DLC here to use for my Japanese game, but that seems unlikely.

One that I don't see mentioned very often is Elona. It's a little odd compared to other true "rogues" out there where there isn't a traditional dungeon with runs and it has its own open world. However, there are a ton of dungeons that do pop up on the map randomly and nearly all of these are procedurally generated (a few even change every time you enter.)

The game feels like a 2-D Elder Scrolls game to some degree where you have a character whose abilities improve the more you use them, and there is a large amount of skills even outside of combat. I usually end up making my characters be gun-toting performers who make their money at parties, assuming they don't get killed by a high-level character that hates their singing. Also permadeath is a setting, though dying does cause problems.

Also you have to pay taxes. The game is very weird and I love it and it feels unfinished in so many ways but I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. Plus it's free.

They mentioned Capcom's Puzzle Fighter on the podcast a few months ago and all seemed to dismiss it fairly quickly. I'm not very familiar with the regular series of games, but I've been having a ton of fun with this one. I feel like there is some warranted concern with how leveling up each individual fighter appears though I have found it to be less of a problem than that same issue in Clash Royale.

Owning this on PC and PS4, I'd say from my anecdotal experience that the PC has a pretty solid community size to this date. I rarely wait longer than a couple seconds for a game in Quick Play though I usually play Mystery Heroes (a side mode that has a little longer wait [30 seconds-ish.]) On the PS4 I find that I might wait twice as long if not longer for the same modes.

I bought this game because of this thread (and also because of the talk about Falcon Ron) and then proceeded to go through nearly the entire game on Sunday. It hooked me in a way I wasn't quite expecting. I played it in an ironman-like way where I refused to restart any of my matches which led to a nail-biting last rite (I barely won with 16 left on my pyre) and only losing two matches total (though one was a liberation rite and the other was the first rite against the True Nightwings.)

I was actually really happy with how those two losses shaped my game's story differently and made it feel like my own unique ending. The liberation rite I lost was against Tamitha, so she went away and I liberated Pamitha the next time and it felt nice to read up on their story in the epilogue, and the final liberation rite felt like I got to upstage the True Nightwings after they beat me the first time.

I don't know if I'd say everybody needs to play this game, but it did a lot of things that I like in games and I was happy to gather more information on my team's backstories as well as give a big ol' middle finger to The Voice every time I won. Also the music is amazing and the little flourishes they cut in when the song needs to transition to something else were always cool to me.

@disco_drew22: I have a long idea of what constitutes good jank versus bad jank and it's a weird ramble, but I think the core of it looks at how can the worst-case scenario of it affect your game. In Fallout 4, if there is a bug in a quest it is possible you would need to restart the entire game's story from scratch, which is egregious. In PUBG, a game crash may take you out of the tension you get from being in the top 10, but it's so easy to get back into the "loop" of the game that it is easier to forgive it. Though I have a friend whose computer can't run PUBG reliably (though, ironically, it also can't run Fallout 4 without crashing) so their opinion of the game is negative.

I think that jank can also go in the other direction, but both games benefit from the engine "misbehaving" and producing some outrageously enjoyable situations. Deathclaws flying, cars on fire, people clipping in out of nowhere. It's only when these bugs wrest control of your experience and what you want to accomplish in the game do people start criticizing.

I was there back in the summer and I would say I wasn't really trying to go shopping for games (especially seeing how easy it is to import now) but I was fully enamored by every Club Sega I passed by. I hadn't played any Taiko Drum Master before but I immediately saw the appeal. I also have a fondness for plushies that was sated during this trip.

Also, to be honest, if you're a SquareEnix fan at all the Final Fantasy cafe is actually pretty nice. I happened to be staying next to it during the last leg of my trip and figured it wouldn't be the worst thing I did, but the treats are good and I got another goddam plush (Baby King Behemoth) because of my affliction.

There are a ton of unique/weird games up higher in the arcades, if you're looking for something new and don't mind not being tutorial'd for some of it there are worse ways to spend your money. I never tried a pachinko parlor but boy do those places live up to the hype.

[Also, and this is entirely alcohol related, but if you are looking for a real amazing bar experience go to "Bar Benfidditch." It is incredibly hard to find (though it's on google maps) but probably the best drinks I have had in my life. It is the embodiment of style and class.]
