Fable 2 is the only game I have ever purchased and not finished. I absolutely hated it and cannot understand how it got even remotely good reviews.

Wii: Super Smash Brothers Brawl

360: The general need for a true next gen system, although Halo 3 was what I played the most at first.

PS3: Blu-ray player and MGS4

So tempting, I really want to convince myself I don't need it, but that would look really nice next to my Alduin figure...

The Metal Gear Solid series is great, so long as you're willing to roll with the amazing absurdity of its plot.

Season is looking really good so far, a few thoughts (have read all the books):

Spoilers just for this episode.

  • As usual Tyiron is awesome, love some of his burns against Cersei. "It must be hard for you... to be the disappointing child."
  • Grey Wind looks AWESOME. I was worried that the cg would be crappy, but the smart mix of cg and green-screened wolves worked really well.
  • Glad they seem to be following Robb more directly than in the books.
  • I continue to hate Joffrey more and more, and I love it.
  • Really liking what we've seen of the Dragonstone crew so far, although I feel like non-readers might be a bit confused by it. Stannis, Davos and Melisandre all seem well cast.
  • I would have liked to spent more time with Cressan to make him the sympathetic character he is in the book, but I can see them not wanting to spend time building up a minor character like that.
  • Craster was a little too clean cut, he needs to be at least as creepy and gross as Walder Frey.
  • Glad they are getting into the wolf dream stuff, was worried they would avoid a lot of that.
  • Really liked the added scene with Cersei and Littlefinger, although I felt it was a bit out of character for Littlefinger.
  • The "bastard purge" was amazingly brutal.

I'd love to join if you'll have me. I was a WoW addict for almost 6 years, but unfortunately never got into GW1. From what I've seen though GW2 looks really awesome!

The Metal Gear Solid series for sure, seeing as it is about 50% movie (and a good movie at that).

There is certainly something I miss about the pre-internet/review/mass marketing days of games when I would just go to the rental store, pick something that "looked fun", and hope for the best. Sure you'd get a stinker sometimes, but often you would find something really fun that you might not have played had you heard a bunch of stuff about it beforehand.
