Hum the no compilation rule at all is a bit trouble some when another developer is making the compilation. I don't really see how we can handle that.

Well this is for compilation games that have their own interface like the Data East Arcade Classic and that Sonic Ultimate Genesis something something not the "3 games in a box for only 20 Zennies"

Like which ones are paid for?   Aside from the racing games most of the trailers have my interest. And I know there are lots of people who love racing games.  "

The current Iron Man 2 ones and the Halo ones from not to long ago are some good examples, one that really pops out is the Deca Sports 3 one.

" There is a difference between ads and trailers. Trailers are meant to get people excited for a game, and if Giant Bomb didn't post the latest trailers and previews lots of us wouldn't know much about upcoming games. Ads are the stuff you see on the sides of webpages that basically say "Hey everyone click this!" "
Would all these trailers not appear on the front page i would agree with you but they are posted next to the regular news posts and generally stay on the front page for at least a day. It is not all that different then the traditional ads.

That said i really do not mind them doing it this way I just wish that they would upload more trailers so that i don't have to check out 3 different sites just to keep somewhat up to date.

" lp2 is just like Monster hunter, the west just doesnt get it. or better yet have their hands held to much that when I game does something different they can't handle it. I for one will be picking up a copy real soon. "
Japanese gamers are the ones that need their hand held, it's been that way since the initial days of Nintendo, so your observations are false.  Monster Hunter may seem open, but in fact is very much focused on setting you on a very specific path, with limited choices and what you do and where you go.  JRPGs by nature are guided tours that have one path to go, opposed to Western RPGs that have always generally let you approach the world as you wish.  Monster Hunter and Lost Planet share the same stupid design of animation taking precedence over control.  Having your guy go through some animation that takes two seconds while you stand there helpless is bad game design, especially if it's a game where you can be attacked from all sides at any time, it ends up making you frustrated and feeling helpless that at any give ntime you literally have no control over your character.
Monster hunter has always been about small zones linked to each-other i don't see why you would think why it would be open world and about exploration. If any game does not hold your hand then it is monster hunter, you will be RAPED (i know...) if you do not try and get good at the game on your own unlike a good number of western games.

As for the slow attack animations being poor game design, nonsense. It is a style that you either like or not, you apparently do not which is fine really. It requires you to think about what you do and not button mash expecting that a monster will drop dead in 2 seconds. Buttenmash and you'll get punished hard for it and i'm telling you this out of experience.
