Coming into this year I thought that GOTY was Mass Effect's to lose. Better game mechanics and the fact that this was the final game in the trilogy alone made this my GOTY. I felt like I got the closure that I wanted in the ending I chose and loved seeing the end of this great trilogy. So despite a very controversial ending and some gripes with how the choices were wrappeed up throughout the game, it is still the best game and the most fun I've had playing a game this year.

Great setting, great characters and story make this game a great game. I just wasn't as invested emotionally in the story as I was with Mass Effect which is why it's not my GOTY.

Great new stealth IP. I absolutely love the non-lethal way to take care of the game's enemies.

Good mechanics, great graphics. Played it on a Xbox 360 since my PC is not up to snuff; which is why it's on this list.

Loved the open world and the combat. Story was a disappointment or else it would have been higher.

The Hitman series is my favorite gaming series of all time and while this is by far not the best in the series, the better mechanics added to the somewhat old Hitman variety in kills make this a top ten for me.

Greatly improved upon from the last entry. Played it single player only but still had a great time. Still had that same problem where once i reached level 50 though I just stopped playing and felt like I had seen it all.

A solid, sound third person shooter. Decent single player, but this is my favorite multiplayer game of the year with its Gang Wars mode; which puts it on this list.

Loved the setting along with the hacking mechanic of this game. Throwaway story but GREAT co-op multiplayer.

Barely beat out Assassins Creed III for me. Great voice acting. A solid game with good FPS and stealth gameplay, but overall story lacked for me.
