That's convenient. That's where I'm playing. My character's name is Randall.

That article actually talks about the main reason I dislike Nvidia; they make things difficult for developers who don't choose to work directly with them, and when they make new technology, stuff that could easily run on any piece of hardware, they lock out or purposely make them run like shit. Ahem, PhysX. It's a business, I get it, but like the article says, when AMD develops new stuff, they are usually open about it and make the source code available for all.

I really hope having all the consoles this generation be AMD slaps some sense into Nvidia, although I doubt it will.

So, how about Mantle and TressFX, huh?

Both of those things are cross platform and work equally well on either AMD or Nvidia GPU's... How about some research before you throw out condescending 'huhs.'

TressFX definitely does not work equally well on Nvidia GPUs (seriously, go load up Tomb Raider now with an Nvidia card - it chugs hard) and Mantle is only slated to work with AMD GCN architecture. Neither company is innocent.

Yes, Tomb Raider with my GTX 780 was almost unplayable with TressFX turned on.

I had an uncanny ability to buy/play really crappy PS1 games so I'd probably revisit some of those from my childhood. I'd probably start with Project Overkill, then move on to Loaded (or Reloaded), then perhaps some Perfect Weapon, and then maybe finish with the main event: Overblood. I've never played Overblood 2 so I might try to get a hold of that, too.

I found the story perfectly reasonable to understand, though I did unlock and read all the bios, which helped. The combat also felt way tighter and more interesting than Bastion's, especially in NG+ where it starts really ramping up.

Yeah, I unlocked most of the character bios, too, but the only thing I thought that it helped with was just developing the world more and it showed some interesting stories within it. I didn't necessarily think it helped with the main plot at all. I'll have to look up a plot summary when it becomes available since there's nothing out there that I don't already know. Maybe someone will post a topic about the plot and put a spoiler tag on it.

Just finished it. I'm amazed how most people's thoughts mirror my own. I, too, thought the story was confusing (although I thought I was just being stupid and not understanding something - I feel better knowing other people had similar issues) and I also agree that the combat has issues. It's a shame, really, because Bastion was great.

I think the only improvement that this has over Bastion for me is the art. I thought Bastion kind of looked crappy, but this looks great. I also prefer the soundtrack in this game over Bastion's (although I liked Bastion's). Overall, I'm disappointed.

It's relatively infrequent for me (once every 10 minutes or so) but it is a bit jarring. A small patch was just pushed out. Haven't tested it yet.

No one mentioned Larry Flynt yet? He was great in that.

In a game that requires me to aim, I will usually choose mouse and keyboard when given the option. It's just so much more precise. In a multiplayer game, I would think it would be a disadvantage if you were using a controller.

I also really enjoyed that idea. I liked that they would assign a certain checkpoint for everyone to get to and talk about it. I would play those games and follow along. It was fun going back and playing games I haven't in a while or playing games I missed. It's really interesting to talk about those games from a modern perspective and those podcasts were a really good excuse to go back and do it. Maybe the Giant Bomb guys could start something as a premium podcast or maybe the community could start something like a "book club for games" as Dylan pointed out. That would be fun.
