I find that Brian Leahy is the only person on the podcast that doesn't commit the cardinal sin of trying to make Video Games into movies. At least it is a cardinal sin for me.
EDIT: In other words he's one of the few people who get paid to write about and comment on video games that hasn't lost sight that in the end they're just video games.
- The faux bleeding heart political correctness. Think about how absurd the whole "Resident Evil 5 is Racist" debacle was, or think about how quickly most "games journalists" default to "women are insanely objectified in games" argument. In my mind it's all a lot of smoke and mirrors to try and show how "grown up" the industry is. - Endless harping about what a new medium video games are, and how the video game industry is not a mature industry. It's one of those things that sound really good on paper, and sound like you're pulling a whole helluva lot of thought into your sentence, when really you arn't. - The bitch-fest that surrounds meta-critic. For whatever reason people like 1-UP really hate it when the sanctity of their review scores are disturbed by meta-critic and.....(DUN DUN DUNNNNNN!) their evil algorithm. - Games as art. I fucking hate that shit. Press some buttons, stab dudes in the neck.
