Here's the complete vod for TennoLive for anyone who is interested especially in seeing more of the Cross Play/Save and Mobile reveal to see it "running"

Hey all, I am back with my annual recap of the major announcements and reveals from Digital Extreme’s Digital Tennocon event specifically, TennoLive 2021.

This year's TennoCon was focused on The New War Expansion, the highly anticipated continuation to Warframe's on-going story. Free Goodies

First off, anyone who has logged into the game July 17th, after 9am Eastern and during Tennocon should have received the Loki Prime and also the Tannukai Armor and Sword Skin via their in-game inbox. Those who have watched TennoCon for at least 30 minutes on Twitch should also be able to claim the Vastilok Grineer Gun Blade. (Note you would have had to had your Twitch account linked with your Warframe account)

New Warframe: Caliban Announced

During the Art Panel the next Warframe was announced and concept art was shown Caliban. a new Sentient themed Warframe similar to the likes of Revenant. (Remember the Sentients are like the Warframe versions of "Reapers" in Mass Effect) The art shows Caliban and his signature scyth-like weapon. Caliban is scheduled for release sometime this year.

Conversely, they also showed concept of new enemies with the theme that these Sentients were made of repurposed prime warframes. One priest-like and the other snake-like.

Cross Play & Cross Save Officially Announced

Probably the #1 most ask for feature in Warframe for several years now, and finally Digital Extremes officially are committing to being able to squad up with friends regardless of what platform they are and in addition all major updates will now ship together allowing Cross-Save progression. A short demo of Cross Play in action was shown on stream. No dates were given to when the feature would be arriving or what sort of process is required to enable cross play / cross save. Warframe running on a mobile device was also shown alongside the announcement.

As someone who's in the Giant Bomb Warframe Community for many years now I have hoped and others hope for some way for the Giant Bomb (and Waypoint) community members on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox to somehow all play together. Finally such a desire is closer to be fulfilled. We are very happy, and may be my favorite announcement of the show!

The Next Prime Waframe: Nidus Prime

Nidus Prime the next Prime was unveiled at the Art Panel and TennoLive. A defining feature of Nidus is known for is his infested Maggot-friends, and in the case of Nidus Prime those Maggots are inspired by a miniature-size version Excalibur prime.

Deluxe Skins:

Two new Deluxe Warframe skins was shown during the Art Panel the first being a Protea Deluxe that inspired by fan-artist @Asturiisk on twitter. You can see their original fan-concept (originally for Mag) to the official concept art for now Protea Deluxe.

The other, Baruuk Deluxe is done by concept artist Karu or @tbgkaru on Twitter

The New War Gameplay Demo

The biggest news from TennoLive is the first look at Warframe's long await expansion the New War, that has been long-await by the players since 2018. It was initially anticipated to be released in 2019, the New War new release date is now sometime in 2021. If you read my blog: 8 Years of Warframe. Let me tell you its Lore you will know exactly why this cinematic quest is the next major story arc in Warframe. It helps to be caught up on the lore before diving into the Gameplay demo.

The Gameplay demo is of the first act (the beginning) of the New War, presumably the Sentient's initial strike. We see a brief intro with Ballas' signature monologue. We see Ballas, in both his Orokin form and his Sentient form. Followed by Natah and the Lotus, and then the Tenno Operator.

Then cut to the Plains of Eidolons as well as the town of Cetus are all under siege. The prespective then shifts to a Grineer solider Kahl-one seven five and we soon realize we are now taken control of this Grineer, playing the POV of a down'd Grineer solider. After trotting through the battlefield Kahl shooting his way through many Sentients, soon discovers the pilot he was searching for in order to evacuate the area is dead, and requests for new orders from his command, Councillor Vay Hek. We then cut to Veso, a corpus technician on-board a Corpus ship currently under Sentient attack. With the guidance of Alad V, Veso makes his way through the ship. Veso has the unique ability to command Moas and Corpus Shield Osprays. We briefly return to Kahl for some more gameplay and a short cutscene of his confrontation with Erra, before finally transitioning to a scene playing as Teshin onboard a Sentient Murex ship. As Teshin you seem to access to his dual cold and heat nikana, the Orvius (Teshin's signature glaive weapon and grappling hook allowing you to traverse heights.

Keen Warframe players will note that the HUD for when playing as the Grineer, Corpus and Teshin are different than when playing as the Tenno.

In the gameplay demo thus far, it is unknown where / what the Tenno are up to during these events.

During the Teshin gameplay, Ballas makes the comment that "The Devils sends the relics to do the deed..."

Presumably the Tenno (Devils as Ballas refers them to as) are fighting on other fronts. In the beginning of the New War we get to see the scale of the War through different POVs which is a first for Warframe, where ordinarily we only play as as the Tenno and their Warframe.

The Sentients have finally started their invasion of the Sol System in full force, the Tenno must use everything they've worked hard to assemble, every tool in their toolbox to try to save the galaxy from the Sentient threat. From the Tenno's Warframes, our mechs, Necramechs, our space combat ships the Railjack and Archwings to the allies they made on the journey: (Uncle) Teshin, The Solaris United, The Entrati, and other Syndicate Factions across the Solar System.
