Most disappointing games of 2010

These are games that were for all intents and purposes not as well done as we had hoped or thought they should have been.

List items

  • It was by no means a bad game but after throwing out one concept of the game for another, they ended up throwing out splinter cell's mechanics. Stealth was basically thrown out the window in favor of a mechanic where you had to move fast and line up kills with it's simple shooting "dead eye" mechanic.

  • Again by no means was this a bad game but as a follow up to Fable 2 it had a lot to live up to. It also had to keep Peter Moloneux reigned in which it did. Streamlining what worked in Fable 2 ended up making the game feel less refined and more simple. Not to mention an ending to a game that has been almost completely panned by critics and gamers.

  • As the last game in Kanes storyline this game had a lot it needed to do, it needed to wrap up the story of Kane and it needed to refine the gameplay that gamers found lacking in Tiberium Wars. Instead they threw out everything that fans of the series loved of the gameplay instead focusing on an MMO style that no one had be asking for. Not to mention a lack luster ending to Kanes story, this ended one of the most Revered RTS franchises in mediocrity.

  • A spy RPG done by Obsidian, after several years of development the game finally came out to less than desirable reviews. Plagued by glitches, a boring protagonist, less than stunning graphics, and game play that at times was unforgiving and at others too simple. This game ended up being critically panned and forgotten on the bottom of sales bins after years of development.

  • This isn't a bad game, this just isn't one anyone was expecting and as such it failed to hit the highs that Metroid games usually live up to. From a dead pan voice delivery to the awful story and script, this wasn't a game metroid fans were craving being perfectly fine and content with a silent protagonist. The gameplay while not bad let much to be desired.

  • It was released.

  • Failing to live up to it's name or expectations derived from Warren Specter. The game suffered from bad camera controls and lack of voice acting.

  • Developed by Rebellion the developers of the original Alien Vs Predator the game ended up being a run of the mill shooter with bland level design, and alright alien and predator campaigns. It unfortunately failed to live up to the high expectations fans had for a new Alien Vs Predator game developed by Rebellion.

  • The forgotten Sands - Developed to coincide with the movie Prince of Persia: The sands of Time, the forgotten sands was to be a call back to the original games released last gen. Getting the original voice actor for the prince it failed to live up to expectations fans had after the original franchise from the previous console generation.

  • It was more Crackdown by far there was nothing wrong with that, unfortunately fans of the cult hit had expected more than just the same.
