Totally Cancelled.

As I am moving into a new apartment on June 22, I have been informed that I should not spend July 2-4 at the ScrewAttack Gaming Convention, as I've "spent enough time hanging out at cons" with my friends. The last Con that I went to was, in fact, SGC last year. Since then, I've cancelled plans to go to any convention or assembly that I've been meaning to go to. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Local Conventions
  • QuakeCon 2009
  • BlizzCon 2009
  • E3 2010

...and I'm sure many more to come.

Only reasons I went last year were to play in the Partners (blindfolded!) Pac-Man CE Competition, Iron Man of Gaming (SGC's version of the Omegathon), to hear Nolan Bushnell's opening keynote, and to take part in a panel based on the perils and pitfalls of the Internet. Mostly, I was looking forward to the first three events; my ride left just late enough for us to miss all three of them.

Figures... I went out of my way to pick up Punch-Out just for the tournament, too. I don't even own a Wii.
