Wow, you can change your username.

Going on 4 years now I've hated my username, Jason_Bourne. For those who don't know, in early 2008 when Giantbomb first launched with Jeff and Ryan, It wasn't the full site. It was a very simple blog that was used while the full site was being built. During that time I had just finished playing the Jason Bourne game, which I really enjoyed. So, when I first signed up, I used that username. It was meant to be temporary, but I met a lot of cool people in those early days. We stayed up until midnight for the bombcast (which goes up way earlier now) using the comments as a chat room since hated my username room.

When the full site launched I used the same name, that way it would be easier for all those people from the blog to find me. About 4 months after that I regretted it, and have hated my username since.

Today during the Gaintbomb Radio Show, Dave and Alexis said you CAN change your username which I've been wanting forever. You can only do it once, and you must be a premium member. Just go to and click on email and password, then just type in your new username, and if you want to change your email/password you can do that.

So here I am, now RedRoach, which fits with my gamertag and all my other gamer ID's. And I am very happy.

Shifting My Alignment

I want to start by saying I've always been an Xbox fanboy of some-sort. Even though i never participate in the flame wars, my console of choice was always Microsoft's.
I've had my 360 for about 4 years, but only purchased my ps3 last year. Still, i always spent more time on my 360, it was always my multi-paltform game choice. After this years E3 though, i can't help but see myself enjoying my Play Station much more in the future. Microsoft showed only shooters as far as exclusives go, and while gears and halo are some of my favorite franchises, I'm starting to feel the fatigue. i don't really have much interest in those franchises anymore, i'm getting sick of shooters, and that's almost the only thing on MS's slate. (NOTE: i said mostly, i know MS has great games, ME2 is my GOTY so far.) On the other hand, Sony is giving me fantastic games of more varied genre's like Infamous and God of War, my favorite game of last year may have been a shooter, Uncharted 2, but it was still varied and was still awesome.
on the motion front, well i have no interest in Kinect, they're chasing after the Wii market and i could care less about the games they have shown. Sony, while still chasing after the casual market, isn't forgetting about me and the games I like. I'm much more likely to try out FIGHT and maybe play U2:AT with move, than cuddle with Skittles,( I got real animals for that.) and play Wii ripoffs.
At the moment, I still prefer xbox Live, and I'm an achievement whore, while trophies just aren't doing it for me. next time i pick up a multiplatform game, it will still be on Xbox, but i can see this easily changing in the near future. more and more im holding a dualshock3 than an xbox controller, and while i look at upcoming games, i realize that it's going to continue.

Splinter Cell!

SC: conviction is wholesome fun. the new stealth mechanics are fast and just fun to use. while i love the new high speed mechanics, i cant help but miss the old splinter cell. When it comes to stealth games, im a perfectionist., and when i played the old splinter cell, i would gladly restart an area to get it perfect, i felt like a bad ass. With conviction i tend to get sloppy and rush through for a reason i can't even put my finger on. Anyways, I'm enjoying the new SC, but there will always be a place in my heart for the more classicall stealth game and i hope they one day make their return. Im about half way through and plan on writing my first GB review after being here from day one.
Question: did you enjoy old SC games, do you enjoy this one?
