All-Time Favourite Childhood Games

As a child I was born into Nintendo, whilst my brother was a devoted Sega worshipper. This was a good thing thought as I was very luck that I have the chance to experience both sides and play games that have warped me into who I am. I have fond memories of these games, so...in no specific order:

List items

  • Simply fun.

  • It wasn't my first fighting game, but it's my fondest...at some points I used to think I was Ryu "hadoken!"

  • It’s the only game to evoke deep emotion in me and at one point reducing me to tears, arguably the best Final Fantasy. If only I could defeat Emerald Weapon...

  • I probably shouldn't have been playing this 18 rated game at the age of 10-14 but it's still one of the greatest fighting games. I'm sure I still have the magazines with the fatality combinations. "Sub Zero wins!"

  • My first experience of turn-based combat. Once I understood how to play the game, I found a deep and rich game. I wish they could/would release this on XBLA.

  • A beautiful game! Riding around Hyrule with Epona, firing arrows into the sun and catching that bass to win that extra piece of heart...ah memories.

  • My brother and I sunk countless hours into the battle arena...after we activated the cheat code to unlock all the characters.

  • I had loads of fun with this, spending a crazy amount of time in the crafting workshop combining weapons, then jumping back into adventure mode to gather more materials...ah good times.

  • "Big money, big prizes” I got neither...fiendishly difficult.

  • Ah Baldur's Gate, you stole my life away!
