Fable 3/ Fallout: New Vegas/ Ghost of Sparta

Lots of buying AND playing goin on these days.

I finished Medal of Honor awhile back and I'm happy to report that the issues I was having with the game are primarily limited to the first few levels of the game. Once you get out into the open desert the visuals really improve as does the gameplay. Strange that that first level felt so different from the rest. I only have about 300 achievement points left before hitting the 1K mark there and they are all multiplayer based.

Fable 3 is beating the reviews have I seen as far as my own personal experience goes. I really like the new 3d menu system and being able to buy and rent out business and houses is really addictive. I have spent a TON of time earning money making pies to be able to buy more houses!

Next up is God of War: Ghost of Sparta which I got today in the mail. I actually got the new PSP bundle with the game. I have a original PSP, a 2000 model, and now I have one of the 3000 models! I really like the new unit and the game seems top notch but I really wish there was something more eye catching on the PSP to make it more unique. A symbol on the back or some extra art around the sides of the screen or something.  Since playing Chains of Olympus i have really started getting into the series and plan on getting the God of War 3 ultimate edition. That will have to come after the new year as there is SO many games coming out these past few weeks and a the next few weeks and the coffers are getting pretty low! Luck for me I have signed up for some overtime during the next few months to help me out with getting everything that I want.

Medal of Honor is fucked up...

I haven't even tried the multiplayer but the single player portion of Medal of Honor is seriously fuckin broken. I am only into the second "chapter" which seems to be a bit better but....holy shit the first part sucked ass.

Enemies seriously disappear right in front of you. Animations are FUCKIN HORRIBLE!!! Like BUDGET SHOOTER level type of stuff.

I'm going to try the multi half some time after I struggle through the single half.

God I hope it gets better.

ModNation Racers

I went ahead and grabbed the Modnation Racers PSP and PS3 versions the other day at Gamestop and LOVE these games! I remember playing the demo's back when they were released and don't remember liking them all that much but either something has changed or I just "get it" now.

My High Stakes version of Dead Rising 2 arrived in the mail the other day. I wish had the steel case from the Zombrex version but...what are you gonna do. Maybe I will pick it up at a later date.

Chaos...

I think I am on gaming over load right now. I can't pick a game and stick with it. I am still working through Halo: Reach but have stalled because I am currently at a very difficult encounter. So trying to break it I have been playing a little bit of everything but not sticking with any of it. A little God of War 3 to some Oblivion and a dab of Playstation Move stuff. I just can't concentrate right now on any of it.

Eh, maybe it's the divorce....

Damn

So I ordered the High Stakes Edition of Dead Rising 2 from the Capcom online store when I heard that was going to be an option and out of nowhere I got a message yesterday saying that it was going to be available "today"! So I figured it would be arriving on Monday and I would finallly get a chance to see the game and all the little bits of the limited edition. WEEEEELLLLLLLL a few hours later I get ANOTHER update saying that it's now on BACKORDER and they would ship it as soon as it comes back into stock. Honestly I don't know what to do at this point. They took my money right away so I figured I was a sure thing but now I don't know. It's a limited edition right? Meaning they aren't making a lot of them. Will I get one? Should I cancel my order and get the other edition from Gamestop or Amazon?

I think I will leave it and hopefully it will eventually get to me.

Damn!

Alright...

The fuckin AI in Reach is not just bad. It's a F5 Shit Tornado!

There is one level where you have to jump out of the warthog and cross this bridge to continue.  You can't take the hog with you because there are these concrete blocks on the bridge that make it impossible to pass. BUT...you can sit  in on the rocket launcher that is on the back of this particular warthog and blast some Elite's that are hanging out on the top of the building that is across this bridge. So I stop the truck, jump on the RL and start blasting away at these guys. I notice Kat jump in the driver seat and worried for a second that she might try to drive around those concrete blocks and then I wouldn't be away enough to hit these guys on the roof. Thankfully she decided to DRIVE OFF THE FUCKIN CLIFF INSTEAD. Ok...fine. I respawn and do it again figuring that it was a isolated incident where the AI just shit itself for whatever reason.

NOPE! She drove off the mother fucker AGAIN.

Halo: Reach might be the best game I have played in a VERY long time but it's got the worst AI I have ever seen.

This must be some kind of inside joke..

The AI in Halo: Reach is fucking HORRIBLE.

I want to say that it is the worst I  have ever seen but maybe it's just because I'm currently trying to deal with it right now and it's pissing me off.

Thats

Morning games!

So Halo: Reach has this purchasing system for armor upgrades built into, I believe, every mode of the game. As you kill and maim you gain points depending on what you kill. Elites are worth more than grunts, and Hunters are more than elites....you get the idea. Well with these points you can purchases nice little "upgrades" to your armor. I say upgrades in quotes because it doesn't actually do ANYTHING besides make your armor LOOK different. No added protection or anything like that. Just makes you look different in game during co-op, fire fight, or competitive match making. Well you do also see it in single player when you jump into a third person mode while driving or performing a assassination move.   They also have daily and weekly challenges where if you complete a certain task you will be given a bonus to your account. These might include "Kill 200 grunts in the campaign mission on normal and above difficulty" or "complete 30 sessions of match making games". So I logged on this morning and checked to see what some of them were and ended up playing through a couple of games to complete one. Eh...I would like the armor attribute upgrade where you look like your dead and rotting away. I don't know how far I will go with this system but I can see some really getting into it.

So a new update was released for the PS3. It adds support for 3D movies and some future Facebook integration it seems where games can update your account automagiclly if you want it to. I'm downloading that as I type.

Also a new demo for Enslaved: Odyssey of the West is out at the Playstation Store that I will be looking at soon.

I'm also getting a Bioshock: Infinite gameplay video that was posted up to the Xbox Live! market! Can't wait to see some more of that game!

Tonight I hope to get in some game time with Alan Wake but this week is super packed with the new television season so I'm not sure how much I will get done.

Halo: Reach and pre-orders

So my legendary copy of Halo: Reach arrived on the 14th from Amazon and I finished it up yesterday on Heroic. I began the game on Legendary and went through the first two chapters before deciding that my first trip through should be one I enjoyed completely instead of enjoying the story but struggling to get by it. And did I ever struggle...it has some of the hardest damn levels I have EVER played. There were times where I was wondering if I was going to find enough ammunition to get past all the grunts, elites, and hunters there are in that game! So i turned it down a notch and enjoyed the HELL out of the game. We all knew how it was going to end and I heard several claim that that was a downside but the journey to the end was fuckin EPIC. Not to mention there was a certain movie about a boat sinking and millions went to see it knowing full well that it sunk at at the end. Sometimes it more about the series of events than what is the outcome. The story is SO good and these characters were so well written that it still is at the forefront of my mind even today. Good stuff.

I got around to placing some pre-orders through Amazon this morning grabbing Assassins Creed: Brotherhood and Fable III. I've decided that I hate Gamestop and refuse to use them anymore. Amazon gets it to my door on release day and it's free shipping. Not to mention they sometimes give out these credits for ordering through them.

Speaking of store credit I ended up getting a $20.00 one for ordering the Legendary Edition of Halo: Reach and decided to get Alan Wake Collector's Edition. They are currently running a special discount on it for $39.99 so in the end it cost me just $20!!! It seems to have gotten pretty good scores so I hope that I like it.

Other than that no a lot going on. I am really looking forward to getting my copy of Dead Rising 2: High Stakes Edition which SHOULD be here on release day as well.

Peace!
