Failed systems that have been getting more attention in death than they ever got in life.

List items

  • Is it just me or will nobody shut up about Sega's last console. Everywhere I turn people are saying "that was a great dremcast game", "I loved my dreamcast", "it was one of the greatest consoles ever!". Yeah it probably was but if everybody thinks that then surely people don't need to keep going on about it.

  • The Virtual Boy has become the butt of everybody's jokes these days, but even negative attention still counts as attention & it's because of that it's become a serious target for collectors everywhere. Regularly going for hundreds on Ebay & private auctions, Nintendo's ugly duckling has become a bit of a golden goose. If you have one collecting dust somewhere, maybe it's time to cash it in.

  • Tempest 2000 & White men can't Jump, the two opposites of an almost two colour spectrum. Games on the Jaguar usually fell into two categories, kinda cool & god awful. Like the Virtual boy it's become a collectors item over the years, especially the CD drive add-on.

  • The Saturn was a bit of a misstep for Sega. Both console & launch games were pushed out the door in a rushed (& some might say unfinished) state just so Sega could boast about beating the Playstation by a few weeks. In short, it was born crippled and sales never really got off the ground but interest in the console has increased over the last few years. Primarily thanks to obscure Japan only games like Radiant Silvergun & Groove on Fight but also because of it's impressive line-up of arcade ports. If your a fan of fighters &/or 2D shooters, the Saturn is a wet dream.

  • Remember even negative attention still counts as attention.
