Jim Morrison sucks. Zappa doesn't. The fail that is FallOut Boy wouldn't have existed without The Smiths, 90's pop-punk, and I guess the Gorilla Biscuits too if you want to get real technical, and none of them were heavily influenced by The Doors (Morrisey from The Smiths preferred the New York Dolls). Jim Morrison was a junkie who could've been a lot more than what he was had he not burned out by his late 20s due to self-abuse, and The Stooges and the MC5 influenced modern rock music more than The Doors did (although, to be fair, Iggy Pop said that he started The Stooges after witnessing a horrible Doors show and deciding that if they could get onstage and just kinda fuck around drunkenly and make money then he and his friends could do the same thing too).

Motley Crue I have a higher tolerance for (I actually really like the song "Live Wire") and Axel Rose is a dick, so Motley Crue. The only thing GNR has going for them these days is that Tommy Stinson (the former bass player for The Replacements) wastes his talent by playing for them these days.
