Please Help me raise money for my home health care needs!

My name is Bob Fayz and I have a physical disability known as spastic diplegic Cerebral Palsy. I am dependant on personal care attendants for the day to day activity of life including bathing, dressing, toileting, home chores and food preparation. . Despite my needs I have had a successful career over the course of the last 10 years as a software engineer and am very proud of my accomplishments. The decent salary I have made, however, has caused the state to deny me funding for the personal care I need to be able to get up in the morning and do my job. I am currently fighting to get a state law changed that would allow me to resume this funding, but until that happens, I need your help. Without personal care aides, I cannot even get out of bed let alone work. For the 105 hours a month the department of human services authorized me for I would have to pay $1,521.34 a month or 18.256.08 every year. And that works out to only 3.5 hours of care per day. Add to that the $420 dollar a month handicap accessible van payment and other medical costs I simply can't shoulder this burden on my own even on my middle class salary. If you can donate, any amount will do. This isn't just about big donations, but about spreading the word to anyone and everyone you can think of. It humbles me to even have to ask, and I know that everyone has their burdens.

The cost I have given is what the Michigan Department of Human Services paid while I still had Medicaid under clause 1619(b) of the social security act which provides continued coverage to people with severe ongoing disabilities who still manage to earn income that would otherwise make them ineligible. However, according to SSI this doesn't apply to anyone with more than $2,000 dollars a month flowing through the bank in a month. So, now I will not have Medicaid to pay for these services, and private insurance in America will not pay for such things as they are considered the domain of Medicaid and are too much a burden on profit.

There is a state program established by the Freedom to Work act, but I was refused because in 2014 the rules for initial eligibility changed to limit earned income far below what I make. Once you are in the program you can make substantial income gains as you pay a monthly fee based on your income.

I am currently advocating for a change to Freedom to Work to revert it back to its previous eligibility rules, but this takes time. In the meantime I have to weather the storm until then so I set my goal for two years of coverage. This may seem like a high number, but I feel I can only ask for generosity once. I also really don’t know how long a road I face. Please help by donating, or spreading the word to those who can.
