We are GO!

I know there wasn't a huge response to my last blog post about going retro with the SNES and posting my video playthrough on here via Youtube, but I started experimenting with it and it's going to work great on my current computer.  The only thing I'm short now is a mic, so I can record commentary for the video.  I've got a few friends who might be able to help me out, but push come to shove, I can always purchase one.  :D

So now, all I have to do is really decide the game I want to play and get an audience.  If you'd like to help me with the latter, just make sure you follow me, by clicking the word follow (shock!) underneath of my avatar.

Also, you can help me with deciding what SNES game you think deserves a playthrough, by simply posting a response with the games name in it (bonus points if you give a reason why).

Right now, big candidates are:

  1. Zelda: A Link to the Past
  2. Super Metroid
  3. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
  4. Final Fantasy III (VI)
  5. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

You should play something more obscure.

@JeffGoldblum: I was thinking as much, but I wasn't sure what my audience would consist of.  If most people watching are N64 generation and newer, most titles are obscure to some point.  Plus, I would have the added bonus of knowing well what I'm playing, although playing through a brand new game for me would be interesting.  I did play Zombies Ate My Neighbors, but there is no way I would be able to finish that game and record all of it.  Any titles for suggestion?

Super Adventure Island 2, mainly cause the music is amazing. It's a charming game also with the weird names for everything. I would also advise you to skip out on the gambling portion as you would literally spend 60 hours there. Love that game.

I've never heard of any of those games

@HypoXenophobia: I'll look into it.

@davidwitten22: You have missed out my friend!

star fox :) that game was awesome.

@iam3green: Agreed, but the emulator has too many graphical errors for me to invest the time spent recording it.  It's not too bad, but it's distracting enough and if it got worse later, all the time spent up to that point would be in vain.  Although it is a kick ass game.

Do a barrel roll for win.

A Link to the Past is one of the best games ever made.

@Daveyo520: Agreed.

@Rockdalf: it's a tie between that and ocarina for the best zelda.

@Rockdalf: Act Raiser?
Edited by Rockdalf
@Alphonzo: Honestly gotta say I've never played it, although when I looked up some of the top video games for SNES, it was high upon the list.  I'll look into it.  I have to admit though that I'm heavily leaning on Zelda atm.

@Daveyo520: I'd agree with you, however MM is my personal favorite.

@Fragstoff: It may be because I'm drinking, but what the hell does that have to do with anything?
Posted by Daveyo520
@Rockdalf: Hmmmm, I don't know about that.

@Daveyo520:  I'm a sucker for Skull Kid.  But I agree that it's a tie between OoT and LttP for the all around "best" zelda.
