Bullet Point Review: Dead Rising (XB360) 0

What I liked: The Mall - The game, much like George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead, takes place entirely inside a mall. And with that mall comes many stores and specialty shops that offer health, weapons, transportation etc. In fact the mall itself kinda becomes an unconventional character within the game itself. What I didn't like: Phone - The purpose of the phone in DR is to recieve little side missions so I can see why it is needed, problem is the damn thing never stops ringing. Once you ans...

BPReview: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (PS3) 0

What I liked: A.I. - You have 2 buddies that you order around to take cover, fire at the enemy, clear rooms etc, and they are pretty decent at it. Usually in games like this the people you order around get caught up on doors, walls or general objects in the enviornments, but the pathfinding of your fellow Rainbows here is really good.   What I didn't like: Death - Question. Do you like dying alot in games? If you answered 'No' then steer clear of R6V, cause your gonna die...alot. Why? Well IM...

Bullet Point Review: Mass Effect (XB360) 0

What I liked: Story - The overall story line in ME is amazing and really draws you in. The ending sets up part 2 really well and I'm looking forward to see what happens next. Mako - The Mako is the vehicle you drive around in. Although it needs to control better like say, the Warthog from Halo, it is a really fun buggy to boot around in.   What I didn't like: Glitchy - ME is full a little graphical bugs. Screen tearing, frame rate issues, and texture pop-in all combine to really annoy the playe...

BPReview: MotorStorm Pacific Rift (PS3) 0

What I liked: Graphics - The visuals in MS1 where simply jaw dropping and somehow, in MS:PR, Evolution Studios have managed to improve on them. The lighting in MS2 is something to behold.  Tracks - The tracks you raced around on in MS1 were really good, but they all felt the same, ie. they were all located on dirt. Thankfully not only are the dirt tracks back but they also have tracks set atop volcanoes complete with flowing lava, jungle tracks with gorgeous water falls, and hill side races tha...

BPReview: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3) 0

What I liked:Cutscenes - While there were too many of them and they were way too long, the cutscenes were nicely produced and they looked really good.Areas - There are numerous levels to explore in MGS4 and each one varies nicely from the last. I just wish there was a better wooded area to explore a la MGS3.Moving - Hey look RE5 you CAN move around while shooting from the 3rd person...and it makes things alot easier. What I didn't like:Movement - Throughout the MGS series Snake has always seemed ...

Bullet Point Review: Resistance 2 (PS3) 0

What I liked: Backgrounds - The backdrops you fight in front of in R2 are pretty amazing with lots of action and detail in them. The Chicago and San Francisco areas are, IMO, the best.   What I didn't like: Dark - For some reason this game is dark, even in the day light it's dark. There were times I would pause the game and have to adjust the brightness of my TV just to see properly. Jump - I'm not looking to jump as high as the Master Chief here but in R2 your jump was not much more than a lit...

Bullet Point Review: Prince of Persia (XB360) 0

What I liked: Graphics - I'm not gonna lie to you, I love cell shaded graphics in a game. Furthermore I love the graphics here in PoP. Their simply stunning. Humor - You know how in some games the producers try and force humor and it falls flat on it's face? Thankfully that's not the case here. True, you're not gonna fall off your couch while playing PoP, but the humor between the Prince and Eleka (your female companion) is handled nicely. Music - The music in PoP feels like it came straight fr...

BPReview: Professor Layton & the Curious Village (DS) 0

What is it?: Professor Layton and his sidekick Luke head to a village to solve various puzzles in their search for the mysterious Golden Apple. What I liked: Music - The first thing that grabbed my attention when I booted up Layton was the accordion music that came out of the tiny speakers on my DS. The music in village totally fits the overall mood of the game. Story - Honestly the story in Prof. Layton is really nothing new, but there are a few plots twists that I don't think anyone saw comin...

BulletPointReview: Uncharted Drakes Fortune (PS3) 0

What is it? - Take the cover and gun mechanic from Gears of War, sprinkle in the exploration elements of Tomb Raider and add some Indiana Jones-esque attitude and adventuring and you're basically there.   What I liked: Water - How many times in a game when you shoot someone do they fall in the water and simply disappear? Lot's right? In Uncharted when a body falls into the water it floats. And not only that, but if it lands in say, some rapids, the body will float down those rapids. It's pretty...

Bullet Point Review: CrackDown (XB360). 0

What I liked: Orbs - Throughout CD there are balls of green and blue lights that you can collect to help boost some of your powers. And believe it or not collecting these orbs is very addictive. As I played through the game I collected 499 out of a possible 500 of these things...and do you think I can find the 500th one? Nope.  Graphics - CrackDown ditches the realistic look presented in games like GTA4, and goes with a more cel-shaded look that really suits the game. LockOn - Thank goodness th...

Bullet Point Review: Resident Evil 5 (PS3) 0

What I liked: Facial - Sheva's facial animations during the cutscenes look so lifelike. If you didn't take notice, go back and watch them...their pretty amazing. Levels - True, I felt alot of the levels in RE5 felt kind of like those in RE4, but there were some really impressive ones too. My personal favs being the city levels at the very beggining of the game. I wish those went on a little bit longer. Graphics - As expected RE5 looks amazing. Surprised? No. And you shouldn't be. Daylight - Whe...

Bullet Point Review: Call of Duty 3 (PS3) 1

What I liked: The Rain? - Hey I gotta like something in the game. Right? What I didn't like: Graphics - I had to check what system I was playing this game on because the graphics in CoD3 look no better than what the Xbox 1 was able to pull off. A.I. - If you were being shot at, or a big explosion went off near you, would you react? I ask this because the friendlies and enemies in this game sometimes don't. They'll just stand there like nothing happened. Maybe what they say about war making you...

Bullet Point Review: KillZone 2 (PS3) 0

What I liked: Graphics - I know liking the graphics in todays games is nothing new, but KZ2 looks really really good. There's one part in the game where you're fighting with a big mushroom cloud in the background, and I stopped and looked at it a few times because it was so real looking. A.I. - You know how in most games when an enemy hides behind something like a low wall, all you usually have to do is wait for them to pop their head out? Well in KZ2 the baddies are alot smarter. When they tak...

Bullet Point Review: Far Cry 2 (XB360) 0

What I liked: Controls - Finally a Far Cry game with lefty controls, though for what ever reason they assigned the left trigger button as your trigger finger. Pssst. Game makers. For the love of God just copy what Halo offers in their controller dept and everything will be fine. Graphics - This is the best looking game I've played so far. Period. Yes even better than those found in Gears of War 2. Size - My word this game is big. I was blown away when I first fired this up and stepped out into ...

Bullet Point Review: Fable (Xbox) 0

What I liked: Vistas - Be it a swamp, a graveyard, a town or a sprawling meadow, the world of Albion is gorgeous. Length - Alot of people say Fable is too short, especially for an action-RPG. True it's no Final Fantasy in length, but to me it was almost perfect. I think my playthrough lasted about 18hrs or so. Sound - From the music, to the monsters, to the people calling me 'Arseface', the sound in this game is really good. What I didn't like: Loading - Everytime you turn around in Fable the...

Bullet Point Review: Brute Force (Xbox) 0

What I liked: Control - As your group of four goes from planet to planet and battle to battle, you can take control of any of them whenever you want. Very handy. What I didn't like: Length - Because each mission was pretty much the same, with only the background (marginally) changing, the game was about 4 or 5 missions too long. A.I. - Don't get me wrong, the A.I. wasn't too bad, but there was certainly more than one instance where I had to go and take control of my fellow teammates and get t...

Bullet Point Review: Halo 3 (XB360) 0

What I liked: Graphics - I'm playing on a SDTV, and I still think this game is gorgeous. I can only imagine it on an HD set. New Stuff - The addition of things like the Brute Chopper, Flamethrower, the Mongoose, etc, in the single player campaign, just adds such so much fun to a series that was already filled to the brim with goodness to begin with. Theatre - For those that don't know, Theatre mode allows you to save gameplay footage and go back and re-watch it, pause it, snap sceenshots, etc fr...

Bullet Point Review: Mario Kart Double Dash (GC) 2

What I liked: Tracks - Although there needs to be more of them, the tracks presented here are really really nice. Double Up- I really like the ability to have two people per kart. That means I'm able to have another person carrying more powerups/goodies. What I didn't like: Cheating - Once you get to the last 2 cups in the 150cc class races, the cheating from the A.I. is just out of control. They'll hit you with anything they have. I can't count the amount of times I was heading down the last...

Bullet Point Review: Ultimate Spiderman (GC) 0

What I liked: Cutscenes - The story unfolds like you're reading a comic book, complete with moving stills and artwork. It's really quite well done. Venom - Back in the early/mid 90's I was a huge comic book fan/collector, and Venom was one of my favs. In this game you get to play as him, and it's pretty fun. What I didn't like: Length - I finished off the story mode in under 6 hrs. Not the longest game in the world. Chase mode - There are different objectives in the game trying to keep up with...

Bullet Point Review: Gears of War 2 (XB360) 0

What I liked: Graphics - God Lord Gears 2 looks fantastic. From the vast vistas, to the crumbling city scapes, this game is probably the best looking game I've ever played. Bots - I never checked out to see if Gears 1 had bots for it's offline multiplayer, but being able to play multiplayer with the bots here is terrific. (I'm not going onto XBLive till it's free) What I didn't like: Vehicles - Just like last time, the wheeled vehicle segment in this game feels cheesy and kinda tacked on. Tho...

Bullet Point Review: Grand Theft Auto 4 (PS3) 0

What I liked . The Little Things - It's the small details (both visual and audio) in this game that ultimately draw you in.     Did you notice?: - the flecks in your cars paint job when the sunlight hits it. - the blood that coats the windshield when you shoot someone, and then after their head either hits the horn, or their foot hits the gas peddle and the car speeds off out of control and crashes. - the sound the horn makes on the old junker cars. - the amount of swearing. (not necessarily a ...
