Hi all,

Long term follower of the site and the crew, I’m an auctioneer in Glasgow, Scotland, and recently discovered a hoard of retro games including a collection of Neo Geo consoles and games including an inordinate amount of Pockets and Pocket Colours!

I just wanted to share in case any collectors might be interested as being a more traditional auction than say eBay you may have a chance of picking up a bargain.

More than happy to field any questions or aid any enquiries regarding condition etc.

Link to the auction can be found here, just search SNK to find them; there’s also lots of Sega Master System, Megadrive etc if you’re into that type of thing!

Hi,

Smash Ultimate looks great but it also looks chaotic. Could those with experience please explain the basics of how to play to someone who would like to get into multiplayer but has zero experience with the franchise. For instance what do those percentages really mean, when to attack and when to dodge, how to use items effectively, how the basic flow of combat works - really basic stuff!

Thanks in advance.

Also if you want a taste of old Dickensian London go to Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Pub on Fleet Street; haunted by Dickens, Conan Doyle and other notable historical figures, it's one of few places that have still got the feeling of 18th and 19th century London.

And for history and art you can't beat (imo) the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

My top tip for London:

Go to the National Theatre building on the South Bank of the Thames; get a glass of wine each from the bar and go up a few stories; sneak onto the balcony where there are usually a few chairs left out there; security doesn't usually mind so long as you're just quietly sitting out there. It's a fantastic view that you can't get from anywhere else looking over to the Houses of Parliament, both banks of the Thames, the London Eye and the river with all the boat traffic. I've spent many a happy hour there just watching London go.

Thanks for the responses, will make a new deck and hopefully that will work as suggested.

Also, I've just got back into Hearthstone and am playing Mage (previously Warlock) - any tips for a decent midrange type deck that isn't too expensive and isn't shoe-horned into a particular play style? I've got about 3500 dust 'floating' about.

Please ignore the pros and cons of this deck specifically but why is it not eligible for Standard? I'm pretty sure that there isn't a card from the sets that have been rotated out but please enlighten me - thanks.

@mattgiersoni: Cool, well I'm in Europe too (UK) so I may well just do that! And thanks for all the replies everyone, you've all probably cost me the £50 or so Destiny 2 will cost, thanks! No, really...

Title sums it up, I'd like to get into Destiny 2 (didn't touch 1) but it seems like a lot of the fun is in running the strikes, etc., with a group of friends. Is there still enjoyment in randomly joining groups with voice chat turned off? Do people generally get on with the combat roles they're supposed to perform?

@cloudymusic: Ha, no, the Guardian does not have the, ahem, classy vocabulary of the New Yorker (if I'm recalling that correctly)

Well, I guess Giant Bomb has finally hit the big time thanks to Drew's meme phenomenon.

I did a legitimate double take when I saw Drew's face amongst the headlines and, sure enough, an article follows in which a slightly bemused writer outlines Giant Bomb, the origin of the meme ('a Giant Bomb show called Unprofessional Fridays...'), and transcribes a short "interview" with Drew.

This makes his announcement from the 'popular gaming website' all the more poignant and laced with a certain tragic irony - they've finally exploded onto the international media consciousness and their white, blinking poster boy is about to leave. Thus the rise, decline and fall of Giant Bomb.
