He has some growing to do as a person, and that's not your fault nor your responsibility. By continuing your friendship with him you'd reinforce his poor social habits. He needs to learn how to treat others in a relationship, but that's something he will have to invest the time and energy into. You could start him on the right path by saying something to the effect of "hey I'm not blaming you, I don't thing you're a bad person, but I think you need to learn how to treat other people better. Then you will have an actually fulfilling social life. Until then I don't think I want to hang out anymore. "
I don't really see anything wrong with this. She's basically advertising it as a bonus and admitted it was “fun, but also really fast and easy". I'm not a fan of Twilight, but I'd totally buy a gendered-swapped Harry Potter or whatever if I ever wanted to re-read it.
This thread makes me long for more high fantasy games with operatic music in it. It was definitely the music that keeps HOMM3 fresh in my mind. Just the quick clip that pops up when the new week starts. Makes me feel like I'm on an awesome adventure.
Yeah, the gameplay still does nothing for me. I have a gut feeling that a lot of people are gonna be pumped about the game for a day or so then be bored and disappointed with it. There's just no way procedural generation can completely carry a game, at some point the art and animation assets have to be crafted by a person. Their team is small, therefore there is a very limited pool of resources that the code can draw from to make everything in the game. So all these "unique" looking creatures will be very similar to each other with almost meaningless differences. I can't see that being very entertaining.
I don't think trying to weed out the offensive games is a viable solution. The industry as a whole is heading in the right direction so I think most of the sexist games will be pushed off to the fringe eventually. We'll never be totally rid of them but when they're one of the billions of shitty greenlit games then they will be as irrelevant as can be.
This will all pan out in time. I think the big thing here is to not donate any more money until there is hard proof of progress on the game. Whether these rumors are true or not doesn't really matter cause if the game development is being so poorly managed it will fail on its own.
I want them to be more systems driven. I want to be able to poke something in the game and watch the world react. GTA V only does this in one way, with police reacting to violence. Why not add destructibility with AI driven construction workers that will rebuild, give them a supply chain and HQ that you can fuck with. The greatest part of Shadow of Mordor is the nemesis system, an AI driven mechanism that players could experiment with and lended each player their own unique experience. Basically, I want to be able to affect the world on a larger and more lasting scale and I want to see the world react to my actions and I want to be able to mess with those reactions.
This is really pie in the sky, but I want to be able to nuke half the city in GTA and then see the post apocalyptic societies and systems dynamically emerge from the ruins and I want to be able to mess with the evolution of those societies. That's probably not possible but maybe there's some future Will Write out there that will figure it out.
