I honestly don't understand how anybody could think this is related to Metal Gear in any way. It's a totally separate developer in an unrelated country, coming out with a new IP seemingly involving PTSD syndrome, and the first thing everyone tries to do is to see how it fits into Kojima's canon? It feels a bit as if people were trying to shoehorn the story of Spec Ops: The Line into the new Call of Duty. I might be the odd one out, but colour me flabbergasted.

There's no such a thing as bad marketing. These kind of moves are usually made on purpose.

Absolution is meant to be kinda offensive (don't forget we're talking about the guys behind Kane and Lynch here).

I thought of the same thing, the amount of hurt from this is minuscule compared to the amount of free publicity they're getting. I've already seen this mentioned on numerous gaming blogs and sites, being free advertising for them basically. I highly doubt anyone would say they are not buying the game because of this.

I actually was thinking of buying the game, but I'm not going to because of this. The statement "There's no such thing as bad publicity" is a falsehood.

I'd add Day of the Tentacle to the mix. And I do find the various incarnations of You Don't Know Jack to be quite hilarious.

I'm glad! Frankly, I love interesting blends of fantasy and the modern age. I would have totally dug The Secret World too, had it not been trapped inside an MMO shell. Hopefully this new installment will take a few pointers from more recent adventure games, make it all shiny and new.

Even though EA is a bloodsucking dinosaur out to scorch the earth they stand on, I still find this deal to be quite a nice gesture of goodwill. This would make an excellent gift to someone looking to get as much Mass Effect crammed into their brain as possible, I approve.

I'm all for this! A Valve-branded computer, or really any piece of hardware made by Valve is a sure-buy from me. They've more than earned my trust and respect over the years.

I know Slenderman is supposed to be scary because we don't know much about him and so we fill in the blanks ourselves, making him even scarier, but whenever I fill in the blanks myself he just becomes silly. Like in that first video: supposedly Slenderman is right there, and they approach him with at least 3 people, then the video cuts. What happened next? Did Slenderman just say "Oh sorry, didn't mean to be in your shot?" We run from him terrified out of our minds, but what happens when he actually gets us? The worst he can do is apparently distort our videos, and that's not all that scary.

I don't really understand what a class action lawsuit is, but I doubt I'll be moving one against Valve or any of these companies any time soon, so whatever. Honestly I hope Valve monopolizes the market faster so that we can have genuine quality in pricing and marketing, among other things. Monopolies aren't all bad, you know.

I know the burning question is: Does this game model it's trees from the ground up as well, or does it utilize SpeedTree?
