Watched Watamote ep 1, didn't think it was as cringeworthy or as funny as everyone seems to be saying. I just thought it was boring.

Servant x Service episode 2 was okay. The new sister character wasn't fun and kinda dragged it down (oh boy another brother obsessed girl), but it had some funny parts. Will continue but not a priority.

Silver Spoon 1 was really nice. I laughed quite a few times (oh god the chickens) and all in all I just found it really enjoyable.

Love Lab 1 was kinda boring but had a few really nice gags. It's unfortunately still in the "maybe" pile though. We'll see how ep 2 is.

Hey dudes, need your help. Currently the only shows I have access to that I have not seen are Gurren Lagann, The Big O, Bakuman, Casshern, Code Geass, Ghost in the Shell, Grave of The Fireflies, Mushishi, Digimon 5, Soul Eater, and the first half of Steins Gate. What do you guys think I should go for first? Also which ones should I avoid?

Watch Soul Eater up to like the mid-30s then drop it and read the manga, which is gonna be finishing up next month, I believe.

Watched episode 1 of Kiniro Mosaic and it was immensely boring. Started watching Mushibugyo, seems alright, but I put it on hold.

Don't really feel like watching anything at the moment.

Blood Lad 01

Show I was probably looking forward to the most and it delivered. Staz is a fun MC and the over-the-top coloring scheme they've used really matches with the tone of the show (and some of the colored manga pages/covers). Also fuck Hulu.

Uchouten Kazoku/Eccentric Family 01

Weird. Lots of no-context name drops and it's hard to get a feel of exactly what this series is about. I still enjoyed this for the interesting character interactions. It's also very visually impressive. A number of very good backgrounds and I'm a fan of the Kumeta character designs.

First episode of Servant x Service was serviceable (dohoho), not bad, not great, some parts enjoyable and funny.

First episode of new Rozen Maiden is a literal "holy shit what the FUCK were they thinking" episode. A recap episode. A recap with a ~twist~. No, they didn't recap the first two seasons in this episode. Those two seasons don't matter anymore, since they barely followed the manga. No, this episode recapped the first 8 volumes of the manga, while the rest of the anime is going to be an adaptation of the second manga series, which is essentially an alternate universe sequel. If there's anyone who perhaps didn't know all this, and had watched the previous seasons but not read the manga, well now you know. I had to look up this because I haven't really been keeping up with any details other than "new Rozen Maiden season". Oh well, I guess I'll read the manga now. Been meaning to for years anyway. Watching the new episode I at first was like "oh I remember this and that, and this...wait what...huh? what?"

At least it looks fantastic. Good direction.

Berserk 3

I marathoned the manga a few weeks ago before watching the third movie and I feel like it's just okay. I mean, I hadn't read the manga or seen the TV series before watching the first two movies, and I thought they were really wonky and only after reading the manga was I able to parse some of the events. The third movie managed to make the Eclipse feel really oppressive and horrific, but I felt conflicted because every time I saw some janky CG person/horse get ripped to pieces I felt like it was more humorous than horrifying, but then it'd swing back to the parts with Guts and it'd feel really intense again. Still, the best of the 3, not really a high bar though.

And unrelated to Berserk or even the new anime season, I've been reading the Konjiki no Gash (aka Zatch Bell) manga and I think it's pretty good. I only ever saw like one episode of the anime and a few clips (Very Melon) but I never paid notice. Saw some people discussing the manga positively the other day so I gave it a shot. Reminds me of Law Of Ueki, managing a line between goofy and goofy-serious. 55 chapters in (out of 323) and I'm looking forward to plowing through the rest.

I only made it through to the end of the terrible opening for DogxScissors before I got the fuck out.

I could listen to the Mechonis Field music for the rest of my life and be pretty content.

I can't even imagine jumping into Xenosaga with the second game. It's not even that good if you've played the first one. At least the third game is the funnest to play, even though that might be faint praise. About 1 1/2 years ago I actually sat down and played all 3 over the span of about 3 weeks. I think I skipped most cutscenes.

Titan 13 must have been a last minute rush job* considering the amount of missing scene and their coverups (stills, closeups, city shots), missing color on some CG + weird green "fog", weird framerate issues and a 3 minute recap. Still managed to have some good action and good pacing.

*at least the version Crunchyroll got

So we can see Pucci is going to have Whitesnake, C-Moon and Made In Heaven, but how will he play? All three have vastly different powers, unlike Koichi's Echoes Act 1/2/3 and Johnny's Tusk Act 1/2/3/4, which all feature an evolution of the first form's power.

I've only seen a bit of (one of) the anime series('), but I hope they have that orangutan that wore a little sea captain's outfit and had a cruise ship as a Stand (or was it Altar/Alter? I can't remember which one was from JoJo and which one was from Scryed).

*edit: Evidently the simian seaman's name is Forever, named after the Wu-Tang Clan's second album. I really need to read more JoJo.

Yeah, and his Stand is Strength. Pretty confident he won't make it in as a playable character, but his ship would work really well as a stage, with him as a stage-hazard.
