Games I Bought New but Later Sold

Includes current console generation only.

List items

  • X360; I S-rank'd the base disc to this for some reason even though I didn't really find the game very fun. Then I played the first (free) DLC and got 11/12 before finally putting down the crack pipe and walking away.

  • X360; Played ~2 hours before realizing that I don't have the patience to learn a modern fighting game well enough to compete.

  • X360; S-Rank'd but absolutely hated multiplayer. C'mon, Tim. :(

  • X360; Bought MW2.

  • X360; The game that got me back into competitive FPS. Had a lot of fun with this, but its time had come and gone.

  • X360; Stopped playing this when Bad Company 2 released. After about 300 hours of the latter I decided I never want to touch another Caulidoody game.

  • X360; Foolishly started my first playthrough on Hard and ended up saving myself into a corner 10 hours in. Didn't have the heart to start over on Normal. Shame.

  • X360; I won a free copy of this from a podcast and really tried hard to like it but ultimately could not get into it. Much of the fun of other music games seems to come from knowing the tune, which is impossible with these custom mash-ups.

  • X360; Stopped playing multiplayer here after realizing there was no record of win/loss and no penalty for rage-quitters.

  • X360; Having always hated open world games but suspected the GTA type setting was much to do with it, I decided to give them one last chance. After 100%ing the single player and firing up the multi, it finally dawned on me that I never want to touch anything like this ever again.

  • X360; Bought a second bundle to split up the hardware with a friend, and neither of us needed the extra copy of the software. Then actually sold my original copy after using the export code in Rock Band 3.

  • X360; Fun campaigns and some really awesome multiplayer modes (especially Countdown) that I was really enjoying until ten days after release when the player pool dried completely up. Too bad it didn't have the words "Call of Duty" on the cover.

  • X360; S-Rank'd with no replay or sentimental value.

  • DS; S-Rank'd with no replay or sentimental value.

  • DS; Played ~15 hours of re-release before realizing I still remembered every thing that happens.

  • DS; Played ~15 hours on vacation before realizing I still just don't "get" Final Fantasy.

  • DS; Played ~10 hours before realizing I still don't see how strategy games are supposed to be fun.

  • DS; Played ~10 hours before realizing I don't enjoy GTA in the slightest.

  • DS-JP; Played about ~20 hours before tiring of the formula and seeing that I could get more than I paid for it new on Amazon Marketplace.

  • DS; S-Rank'd with no replay or sentimental value.

  • DS; S-Rank'd with no replay or sentimental value.

  • DS; S-Rank'd with no replay or sentimental value.

  • DS; Played ~10 hours before realizing I am finally tired of this series.

  • DS; S-Rank'd with no replay or sentimental value.

  • DS; Played ~10 hours before getting discouraged at how slowly my skill was progressing in an action puzzler, typically my best genre.

  • DS; Bought into critical hype before realizing the actual game part of this game is mad broken.

  • DS; Played ~5 hours before realizing this is too hardcore for my tastes.

  • Wii; S-Rank'd all 3 hours of this over-priced flash game with no replay or sentimental value.

  • Wii; Completed 100% and loved it but realized I'd never play it again and eventually starting selling any Wii game of value to divest myself of the horrible system.

  • Wii; S-Rank'd and had my fill of local multiplayer. Online multiplayer was disappointingly broken.

  • Wii; Most frustrating couch co-op experience of my gaming career. Made it to the end boss and never even beat it.

  • Wii; Played ~15 hours before realizing I was having more tank control frustration than fun.

  • Wii; I loved the first SMG back when Wii was my only current gen console. But since realizing Nintendo has forsaken me and buying a 360 turning on my Wii feels like a lonely, ugly experience. Couldn't put more than 6-8 hours in this disc before realizing I just don't enjoy using this console.

  • Wii; Completed 100% and loved it but realized I'd never play it again and eventually starting selling any Wii game of value to divest myself of the horrible system.
