Sea urchin. I've seen numerous cooking shows with people calling it "creamy and delicious", but to me it's a disgusting pungent brown mucus. One bite was all I could manage, and it took me about 2 minutes to get down because swallowing it too fast would have led to the rest of my food coming back up.

Game violence doesn't really disturb me because it never feels realistic to me regardless of graphical quality. (On the other hand, good voice acting can make me completely unable to take the "evil" path in a game because I feel too bad about killing those characters). Regardless, Noob's "Wishbone" fatality from MK9 and the finishing move from Assassin's Creed 2 where you impale the enemy from their collarbone to their groin are definitely "ouch" moments.

They made a show based on that? I played the game, and while the story worked (relatively) well in a visual novel format, I cannot see it working very well at all as a show.

Yes, and I can also second his statement that it is indeed terrible. 12 episodes was not nearly enough for the main plot let alone the character stories. Everything felt super rushed and there were many things that didn't make sense because they didn't have time to explain them. I seriously regret buying the boxed set of this.

Infinite Stratos - No actual plot and a terrible main character who is so oblivious it utterly shatters any suspension of disbelief. And almost all the girls have tsundere tendencies if not a full-blown tsundere personality. Yuck.

***SPOILERS AHEAD***

Chrome-Shelled Regios - There are so many different plot threads going on and the anime completely fails to resolve almost all of them or explain how they're connected in any way. Many specific facepalm moments including:

  • The final battle is against a random monster whose significance is never elaborated on.
  • The villain is defeated more easily after acquiring the super-powered upgrade that everyone spent half the series searching for. What.
  • A very significant amount of time is spent focusing on an antagonist who plays no role in the greater overall story.
  • Only a vague reference as to the relevance of those weird Engrish segments that appear in every episode.
  • Yet another oblivious main character who all the girls fawn over and doesn't understand why. No real development in any of his relationships, romantic and platonic alike.

By the end of the series basically nothing has even changed except the main character has slightly more confidence. The last couple scenes even show the characters doing exactly the same thing they were doing at the beginning. I've heard the novels are actually good, which I'd believe if they actually take the time to explain anything unlike the anime. The potential was there but they did a terrible job trying to realize it.

A word of warning: If this is anything like the previous two games, they are AWFUL.

Seriously, if you really want the risque stuff, it's all on YouTube. Don't support crap games like this, especially with their...interesting marketing tactics.

Unless they somehow fixed this game and made it not an awful grindfest with bad gameplay, in which case it might be looking into. But don't hold your breath.

I agree with everything said here and would go one further and say, if you want risque stuff, just look for a completely different series in general; there are plenty out there. The fanservice, like everything else about this series, is totally half-assed and full of more "implied risque" than actual risque. Playing this game for the fanservice is like trying to get drunk off non-alcoholic beer.

The Patriarch from Xenosaga Episode II. 20 minutes of tedium chipping away at his ridiculously high HP and then when he's around 20%, goes absolutely nuts and if you're unlucky can kill your entire party before you can even respond.

Satanail from Star Ocean 4. Has an astronomical amount of HP but doesn't do all that much damage, resulting in a very long and very boring fight. Took me almost an hour to kill him, which is fairly silly for an RPG with an action-based combat system.

Quicktime events in general, especially when the game otherwise has a very fluid or interesting combat system. Most recent examples for me are Prototype 2 and Lollipop Chainsaw. P2 gives you such a wide range of movement yet certain attacks will still hit you even if you could have easily dodged them manually just because you failed the quicktime event. It feels like a serious disconnect from the rest of the game. And, having to replay an entire boss battle in Lollipop Chainsaw from the beginning because you failed to press the right button at the right second at the end is really stupid. Doesn't even matter how flawlessly you played the actual combat portion, you just die instantly and restart at the beginning. Lame.

Record of Agarest War Zero

Yeah that game is fucking terrible. I fell for buying Idea Factory games like four times now. Never buy a game by Idea Factory or Compile Heart.

Oh I know, trust me, I know. They burned me twice and will never be getting another cent from me, "gameplay improvements" in the sequels be damned. I actually wish this game and developer were less obscure just so they could get the negative recognition and critical panning they deserve.

Record of Agarest War Zero and Hyperdimension Neptunia - the two worst JRPGs I have ever played.

TERA - was hoping it'd be different enough from other MMOs to be interesting but it definitely wasn't. Aside from the combat and graphics it's actually a huge step back.

Absolutely not. A moment like that must be earned. One does not simply view it on a forum.
