Five single-player games that I will never get tired of:
These are the five games that I could play through over and over again and enjoy it every time.

Metroid Prime is one of the most atmospheric games I have ever played. I will always enjoy all the moments this game has to offer, from entering Phendrana Drifts for the first time and hearing the amazing music or even the scavenger hunt for the Chozo Artifacts. Sequence breaking also adds a great deal of replay value to the game.
The first Metroid game I have ever played, Super Metroid immersed me into its world from the very beginning. Also one of the most atmospheric games I have ever played, Super Metroid provides an experience unmatched by most games even today.
The only rpg I have ever completed more than once is Paper Mario. The strange thing is, I don't even know why this is. I have beaten this game more than five times now and practically know it off by heart, but there is something that keeps drawing me back. From the hilarious characters to the great gameplay, this is a game I can never resist playing.
The first significant upgrade to the Mega Man formula, Mega Man X had me hook, line and sinker as a child (and it still does)! The gameplay improvements over the original Mega Man games, such as the dash, make this a fast and furious platformer where you had to rely on pure skill to survive. Mega Man X also boasts some of my favourite music in a videogame. Chill Penguin's theme never fails to make me smile.
Super Mario Galaxy is the odd game out on this list. Whereas I enjoy playing the other games, I generally find Super Mario Galaxy boring (after the first 60 stars of the first play-through, that is). I detest finding those purple coins, everything about the Deep Dark Galaxy and having to watch the end credits over and over among other things. And yet, I still inexplicably play it. To date I have found found 120 stars three times, the 121st star twice, and am on my fourth play through right now.
