My friend and I just asked this question when we bought our Vita's a couple of weeks ago. The answer: This $300 bundle is worth it Instant Game Collection Bundle.
Looking around, all the "good as new" or "referbushed" models wifi or 3g ran around $200-$250. And that was for just the game system. With the bundle you get a memory card (which Sony did wrong there, those cards are way to expensive) and a year of PS+ - something that anyone that has a PS3/Vita should just have at this point.
I don't, any will most likely never use the 3g, but when was looking around this bundle seemed to get the most bang for the buck. And if say you want to trade the system in down the line, say towards a newer model Vita or whatever, having one with all the bells and whistles will net you more to that future purchase.
I don't know anything about making games, but I sure do love to play them.
When I decided to look into getting a laptop that would suit my needs (be able to run most games that I'd want to play, and still be affordable) I found this: HP M6DX. It plays all the games on my steam list, the majority on high settings. And when I got it, it was $450 with free shipping. So for it's been a steal so I wouldn't over look what HP has to offer - just look into it first. My friend got an HP just under the model I purchased and it isn't able to pull off gaming quite like mine does. When I was doing research I was looking around at forums youtube videos etc making sure the machine could game like I would want it to.
Like @jazzycola said, it's more then likely that the University will provide you with workstations that'll be where you will be doing most of your work. Not knowing a thing about game design, I am willing to bet that the laptop a duder/gamer is going to want is probably going to be able to handle the work you'll be doing while away from one of the University computers.
Ultima Online first (having a subscription for 10+ years...), second the Mass Effect series. I wish there were a way to get an hour count on both. Or, maybe it's best that I can't.
I have had mine for... 1/2 a year now? Either way, best keyboard I have every had. Make the switch, it's worth it. Other then my friends don't like it when I really get to typing while in Skype.. Apparently the keyboard comes through loud and clear over my mic.... *clickclickclickclickclick!*
*edit - the software is shit though, so that should be noted.
I mostly get to only listen to it on my 15-20min commute, so about the time I am done with one week the next has already be loaded up. It's far more interesting to the radio so I prefer it and it's at times tri-hour length.
@demoskinos Cool, thanks for that. When I do play I'll try and go in that order
@jack268 Twice you say! Right on, I am hoping to play in co-op as well - that's what made RE5 for me.
Eh, I decided to jump in and pre-buy on Steam. I'll take the chance at also getting RE5 and maybe re-play that while I am waiting for 6 to unlock. I am interested enough in 6 to just grab it, and if RE:R ends up being good then I'll pick that up as well. On that.. Are they just taking what they made for the 3DS and putting it on consoles? That's different.
In the meantime, Revelations is also coming out on PC, 360, and PS3, and I think I'm far more interested in that.
Thanks - I get the Brad and Patrick hated the game.
That was also posted over the games release last October, since then there has been enough time for patching and what not. I was looking for a more current opinion on the game to see if anything had been updated to improve the experience, mechanically or otherwise.
