I thought this had been put on indefinite hiatus? But their website was updated a few months ago, so I guess something changed. Glad to hear, had my hopes up for that project.

And I love this kickstarter idea. The original Ghost Recon is one of my favorite games ever. I didn't really like the direction they took with GRAW, so hopefully it's more faithful to the first ones. Though it seems like they're aiming for more of a Rainbow 6 game, which is also fine.

I hope Ground Branch works out because I miss tactical shooters of old.

I feel the exact way about Ghost Recon. I played it on the pc along with both expansions: Island Thunder and Desert Siege. I went from Ghost Recon to play Rainbow Six: Raven Shield + expansions. After that everything changed with Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. The last Ghost Recon game I purchased was Advanced Warfighter 2 on the pc because at the time I didn't have a console. The games were once considered Tactical Shooters but now they try to appeal to a wider audience with over the top action like Call of Duty. I have yet to play a Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six game on the consoles but I have high hopes for both Future Soldier and Patriots.

I love the variety of the games listed. This year is a huge year in gaming IMO.

@believer258: you are the only person to mention Tomb Raider. Though it doesn't make my top 5 list I agree that game looks unique. I have high hopes for it but I can't base a purchase merely off the cgi and very little bit of game play.

What are your top 5 most anticipated games of 2012? I love lists and viewing other lists. I made a list exactly like this for 2011. Here is my list by release date:

1. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
2. Hitman Absolution
3. Far Cry 3
4. Assassin's Creed III
5. Resident Evil 6

The Last of Us would be on this list over Far Cry 3 but it may not release in 2012.
