Right now I haven't really listened to a Bombast in at least 5 months. For the first time I am 99% sure I am cancelling my sub...s...

I got about 100+ hours into Oblivion and my wife, then girlfriend, thought she would make a character. Something happened and it wiped all my saves. I never went back to the game after that. I hit platinum in Assassins Creed 2 and forgot to sync my trophies before upgrading the HDD so I lost about 4 games worth of trophy data.

@banefirelord: I think from a boots on the ground perspective it would be hard to really get beyond anything clear cut in a story. Only way I could see things being different is a campaign, or chapters, from a soldier on the Axis side and that won't ever happen in a AAA game.

@poser I mean, when they did a new COD that was practically The Expanse + COD people complained. They are doing a "Back to their roots" COD and people are gonna complain; its lose lose. Personally, I'm tired of every shooter now needing to be parkour city.

Curious if this will get locked considering mods have closed threads for dealing with "non Giant Bomb employees" in the past...

I was actually pretty excited until they alluded to the crap show that is COD Zombies being in this one too. Seriously, do they have to cram that mode into every single COD now?

@banefirelord The conflict itself, allies entering WW2, had no shades of gray but events that unfolded during WW2 definitely had shades of gray at times.

Well, having platinumed one (horizon) and basically platinumed the other I've spent considerable time with both...and Horizon is heads, shoulders, knees, and toes better. Ryder's VO and dialogue is enough to make me want to say its 3/10 ><

Outlast is better than Resident Evil 7 in the spoopy department. That being said noone on the crew really plays these games and the first one wouldn't have gotten talked about at all if Patrick wasn't here at the time.

Sunset Overdrive is a fine game but it got about as much attention as it deserved, imo; its the only xb1 exclusive I even really like.

I mean this isn't like Witcher 3 levels of underration from duders.

That is sucks and should be better? :p Seriously though:

  • Don't do things just to check off a box.
    • Including multiplayer but it literally being a carbon copy of the 3's MP.
    • Having an open world just to have an open world
    • Including the "usual suspects" races +1 just like in ME3
    • A ship that is basically the Normandy and that is layed out exactly like the Normandy.
    • Loyalty missions just because "that's what we do"
  • Care about your characters more
    • Writing, dialogue, romance options, etc
    • Why are there only like 2-3 times in the entire game where a "paradon or renegade" option show up? Why are they even still there if they don't matter?
    • How is it possible I can go through an entire Mass Effect game and really only like 1-2 characters, at most...and mostly because those characters reminded me of pre-existing ones?
  • Include worthwhile customisation
    • I could at least get new outfits for characters upon completing their loyalty missions in 2 and 3.
    • What is the importance of being able to get every single ability when I can only ever have 3 equipped?
  • Combat should be better
    • Just like Call of Duty has proven, adding a jump jet and boost doesn't matter if the core game isn't there.
    • Why can I not order my teammates around + tell them what powers to use? Why am I waiting for Peebee to pull a target by chance?
    • Why is the melee combat worse than ME2 and ME3? Why can I not melee grab characters on the other side of cover?
    • I shouldn't have to wonder if I'm really in cover or not.
    • Allow me the option to talk my way out of combat more.
  • Unless I'm playing Killzone I shouldn't hate the character I am playing
    • Dialogue shouldn't suck unless I'm specifically trying to make my character stink.
    • I consistently hated Ryder, which never, ever happened in ME 1-3. No matter what I chose, he sounded like a frat boy douche or someone trying to their best to wear the big boy pants without having the ability or confidence to pull it off.
  • You don't always need to be the chosen one, savior of every Mass Effect game
    • Explains itself.
  • Write better dialogue and story
    • its a meme but they do use the word "Pathfinder far too much". I play the tabletop game Pathfinder and since being in the test for that game to now I've never said the worth Pathfinder as much as my character in MEA
  • Let a real Bioware studio take a crack at Mass Effect.

I loved the hell out of the Bad Company series and I put a massive crap ton of time into 4, which I love and think is the second best game in the series. Battlefield One was garbage to me and Hardline felt like a cheap user made mod.

I just can't relate. I will say some of the games in the genre are bad but I've had a lot of fun with them. Granted, the current Tell Tale games are an evolution/de-evolution of the genre, but stuff like the LucasArts remasters and Thimbleweed Park are amazing.
