I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation here. No banter, no cringy jokes, just game after game, although admittedly some of those suffered a bit from a lack of context. The pit orchestra, the stage essentially just being one big screen, the choice of venue, it all made Sony's event feel very different from the others. As far as the games themselves go, God of War, REVII, and Horizon looked really good, Detroit seemed interesting, as did Dead Stranding and a few others, but there wasn't much in the way of gameplay for much of what was presented so the best I can say is we'll see. I was disappointed to see the lack of indie representation since I thought Sony did a great job of grabbing that stuff early on, and the lack of it here definitely favored MS in that department, as did the lack of big announcements as far as hardware. Putting a date on Last Guardian was crucial, they likely would have been laid into had they not done that.

Hot Mama's Pizza on Capitol Hill is awesome, and not that far from the convention center.

I just love how much Vinny resembles coolbaby. Fantastic work.

Ha, that was my first thought as well.I'm not sure if it's disturbing or just makes total sense.

@notnert427: While watching those playthroughs will spoil boss fights, levels, etc, the games can be played so many different ways. You could end up with a totally different build so the game would still have novelty despite having seen the whole thing through.

I've not played Bloodborne so that will be absent here.

Rank:

1. Dark Souls

2. Demon's Souls

3. Dark Souls II

As it happens this is also the order in which I played them.

No, but I certainly contributed to destroying servers when they played PC games I liked. Sorry guys...

The first thing that comes to mind for me is turn based or pausible stuff, like an X-COM or Pillars of Eternity. The only problem there obviously is that those sorts of games tend to rely heavily on text for story and stats and stuff. Maybe since you can read it at your own pace that would be ok?

@conmulligan: Yeah, the bear can soak up a lot of damage, but I don't think he dishes out quite so much. I've still had him go down a number of times over the 10 hours I've spent with the game so far.
