I'm not into his content, he doesn't really play anything I care about, but I thought this was really great and interesting. He reminds of off Jeff's stance on a lot of the topics brought up such as Early Access, Steam and Kickstarter. Good faster speaker any ways and it isn't cringe worthy like these sort of things usually are.

Looks like it is all on Sony now then, which is funny as the OR guys slagged off Sony VR.

Omg I tried my first FPS on a console since like Goldeneye and it just doesn't work! I'm not a big fan of this lobby thing, it gives no sense of the population, you feel isolated and not like you're playing online at all, what is worse is because they aren't persistent servers like on PC, there is constant downtime and no picking servers on maps you like. Where is the choice? I want to pick a 24/7 map server and be done with it, I don't want to play all these other shitty maps.

The worst thing though is the analogue sticks... it is just funny how bad they are compared to keyboard and mouse. You can tell there are tons of low level aim assists there but also how much slower combat is as a result, when you watch someone killing you, they take a couple seconds longer than it would on PC. It is the worst control method for an FPS, not viable IMO..

What is up with the FoV? It is so narrow, like I cannot see anything, just gives me motion sickness, you cannot even turn it up, 90 should be at least there, but it isnt't.

Terrible, no wonder why the genre sucks these days, all catered to this shit.

Did any one else watch that Live Stream yesterday with that guy? I cannot remember who he was, but he was going on about seeing an amazing eye tracking demo. Apparently you could control the camera with your eyes and it worked super well and he though it was really amazing, more so than the VR stuff. Be surprised if Microsoft didn't buy them up, surely that is something Kinect could do now?

Really great insight into developing a game, makes me wish he was a regular or had his own podcast on the sight.

I want to ask if APIs are used for all console games or if writing to metal means bypassing APIs like I've be told in the past. I spoke to Digital Foundry and they told me DX was used for all Xbox games, but I've also been told AAA games tend to not use APIs on consoles... like which one is it? Titanfall is using DX11 on the Xbox One, which has got my interest lately, because it could mean DX12 would be a nice advancement for them. All confusing though, different information from different people, all of it is probably wrong lol.

I'd love for him to be on more often to give us the inside scoop, was super interesting this week.

What did I just watch today? It was so slow and sounded like crap....

I'm not watching this any more, I mean the sound was what made F1 and now it is gone.

@nashvilleskyline:

DX 12 will work on the xbox one.

"The panel's description highlights how the company plans to deliver on demands of better tools for developers, added performance, and support for an "unparalleled assortment of hardware," with specific mention of PCs, tablets, phones, and consoles"

Ign article

I have High hopes for the Xbox One's future.

The main point I have is if it is using an API, that explains everything, it isn't like a highly optimized write to metal game.

It could only be using like 40% of the consoles power due to the API.
