A lot of the posts on this irked me a bit, but I guess people watched GB due to different things.

Although this is a videogame website. The reason I supported and watched it because the people presenting were humans that liked different stuff, to some degree the games was the job and the stuff surrounding it helped shape their content and led to interesting and human conversations.

This content feels interesting and different which might be what GB needs to try, it doesn't diminish the product in any way. Streaming games is saturated, but people like the people behind it more. I think over this past year especially, people would realise that just purely streaming games or doing the same thing can't be that fun for folk and a mix up of content might just be what people need to feel reinvigorated.

I know people have limited time and cash, so maybe people are deciding this is the time for them to jump off, but I think this mix of things allows people to also enjoy the content from ex GB folks as well as this, and have a nice variance of shows and material.

I can totally see one of these or another not-yet announced show to click with folk and then things will make sense.

This site has been a wiki, a wrestling almanac, a blog, an insight into the lives of some industry veterans, families, personalities and I think there's opportunities for it to be more (as well as games content).

Maybe as a mid 30's person that worked in the industry, I guess I'm also finding that other content interesting as I'm also getting a bit more tired of games based on schedules to play. I've loved seeing garage cleanups and the newer guilty treasures will hopefully have some great gems.

This is way longer than I expected to type, but I hope it helps people to give it a try at least. People trying new stuff but then seeing this kind of feedback (even the nicer/better worded critiques) can be extremely disheartening. There will be something there that clicks (I'd love to see some kind of history of pinball series or something more about arcades with the 2 Jeffs myself as things open up but then I'm a sucker for things like The Arcade Blogger/ Tony Temple's stuff).

Anyway still excited to see all of this stuff and it has been pretty refreshing!

Yes, quite a few MMOs (old style non-wow MMOs).

Our group was heavily into early SWG (pre NGE). Then when that changed dramatically the group were trying every game under the sun that had some element of crafting and player housing. It let to mmos promising everything (more well known ones like EQ2, to ones that basically never released or lived up to potential like Horizons, Pirates of the Burning Sea and others that only got to beta level). It took us down other paths of finding just group games where we could all just hang out with minor levelling up/ costume changes (Pangya golf/ Albatross 18 which was pretty fun!).

SWG seemed to keep us together, and EQ2 and Eve for a bit. But nothing ever seemed to replace them fully. At the same time everyone seemed to drift apart games wise.

Think it was an of the moment thing, wow certainly split a lot of the group up and I guess I never caught on to it personally (out of the Blizzard games, it didn't grab me as much as other stuff, and I ended up working there!). I did play it to stick with the group though as I'm sure many have been dragged back into to play.

That kind of 'community' gaming is the thing that brings many back to games we might not like. And it brings some really welcome surprises at times, but I guess those grind heavy things I no longer enjoy playing.

Really sad news, seeing people post on twitter and here about all of their memories over 10+ yrs of entertainment on GB alone!

Great to see so many memories and the amount of sadness showed how much it meant to many.

All the best moving forward and still excited to see what happens in the future (Will definitely get into gunpla if someone decides to go off and do some kind of streaming service based on that!).

It has definitely highlighted some great journalists, developers, composers, personalities and a great community over the years!

I finally just started Divinity: Original Sin 2 on steam.

I always used to love the idea of D&D style RPGS, usually spending a few hours in character creation, then after an hour or 2 I lose interest or engagement (at no fault of the game, just my own playstyles).

I have found the world of Divinity fun, vibrant and the narration to be really engaging, moreso than I was expecting. That, in combination with the main characters/ 'origin' character stories are really fun and unique. It's taken some of the focus on frontloading character creation and I'm enjoying how the characters develop over time. I don't feel like I've made a wrong build or decision thanks to a nice blend of difficulty modes for all types of player (I am going with easy?/story focus which I think is default now as I'm also rubbish at these kind of games and do prefer story over the combat puzzles).

I'll look forward to finishing it in some form over the next few weeks/months and will happily now look at BG3 when it is out of early access maybe late 2021.

The Saturn had some good games (hopefully don't have the full rose-tinted glasses on today!) which I wish we were re-released as I think they'd do kinda well today.

I wish Dragon Force and Panzer Dragoon Saga would have got more of a look even in re-release format (think Dragon Force would be great on tablets/handhelds). Sadly due to the struggles with the console itself they maybe didn't have a wide enough audience for them to be checked out.

Apparently Jet Set/Grind Radio didn't do well either but most people I knew with a DC had it. It's on steam now and although super clunky now to play was great in the day.
