Sersie's Favorite Bioware Characters

Been playing a lot of Bioware titles over the years and I just wanted to compile my list of favorite characters from all of those games.

Looks like I need to create a new character page for a Neverwinter Nights character.  I always like Deekin in the game.  He was the best kobold sidekick/bard/biographer a hero could have!

List items

  • Minsc from Baldur's Gate:

"Go for the eye Boo! Go for the eyes!" Minsc and Boo were, hands down, the best characters in all of Baldur's Gate. He was insane, but oh so awesome. Even though he is a Ranger as a class, I ended up putting him in heavy armor, leaving the Rangering to my main character. After all he was "Full plate and packing steel!" :)

  • Liara from Mass Effect 1 and 2:

The thing I liked most about Liara was that she was supposed to be this much older person, but because of the way that Asari develop, she is pretty much like an awkward teen, especially when dealing with relationships. It was pretty funny to interact with her as the very self-assured and strong Commander Shepard (either male or female). She was also my go to for a lot of missions as I loved playing a Soldier and her Biotics rocked.

  • Tali from Mass Effect 1 and 2:

Tali was a bit of a non-entity for the longest time in Mass Effect 1. The environmental suit definitely plays into this as you don't ever get to see her face, but the more I dug into her story, the more I liked her. Also, I think her voice acting was some of the best in all of Mass Effect. With Tali rocking the Tech, Liara the Biotics, and me as as Soldier, we kicked lots of Geth ass.

  • Commander Shepard from Mass Effect (1 and 2):

Though this is not a picture of "MY" Shepard, it will do. I did play through as both make and female in the first game, but I vastly preferred the female version. It made the interactions with Liara a lot more interesting. I also think that this game was the game that spoiled me for all future games of this type. I NEED to have my main character fully voiced. I was very disappointed when the Dragon Age protagonists did not have any voice. Though not the best of the voice actors, the male and female versions in the game were still very solid. Shepard kicks ass.

  • Leliana from Dragon Age: Origins:

Straight up the reason I love Leliana is that she rocks that faux French...erm I mean Orlais accent. It was a lot of fun running through all of her dialog as you got to know her too. In game I liked to make her my Ranger and have her summon bears (no spiders, they sounded to creepy when they walked).

  • HK-47 from Knights of the Old Republic:

There were lots of characters from Knights of the Old Republic I liked, but the most memorable was HK-47. What I liked most about his was his unabashed honesty about his disdain for organics, or "meatbags". He is a classic character.

  • Zevran from Dragon Age: Origins:

Much like Leliana, I love Zev because I thought the voice acting was awesome. The Antonio Banderas-equeness of was just delicious. He also is such a free wheeling sort of fellow it is hard not to like the guy, in spite of his profession as an assassin. He resulted in a lot of laugh out loud moments while getting to know him throughout the game.

  • Morrigan from Dragon Age: Origins:

Ya I know, this is another Dragon Age character, and yes this again is an accent thing. But what can I say, I love Claudia Black, the actress who voices Morrigan. Additionally, Morrigan was interesting because she was a big pain in the ass since I usually try to do the "Good" side of things, and she was always so critical of it. I appreciated it.

  • Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic:

Though not voiced, I think Revan was one of the cooler characters from Knights of the Old Republic. Definitely one of the most interesting of the player characters you can play in a Bioware game.
