I've now lost interest in this game based on how basic and limited the crafting system seems to be. I was hoping for something with the depth of original SWG crafting, not a system in which everyone makes identical items. What interests me about MMO's is real player-driven economies...this game will not have that. It's too bad, too, because I have been looking forward to SWTOR for a few years. Oh well.

While crafting in and of itself isn't a big deal to me cause I prefer Raiding; I was also hoping for a more player driven economy.  WoW did a lot of things right, but I always thought the Economy was very stale, its really just the Auction House and the same materials/bind on equip gear.  Its not a game breaker for me, I'll still try it out; but I was hoping they'd implement something more in depth as well

@PenguinDust:
You're correct that WoW is a "fluke" because no other MMO (even a Blizzard product) is likely to reach 12 million (or even 6 million) subs; until the genre is overhauled entirely

You're incorrect that WoW is a fluke because it was "lucky" or "released during a perfect storm".  WoW was successful because it had endgame content at release, problems were fixed with relatively good speed (compared to other MMOs); and Blizzard has the resources to do whatever the playerbase asks for... the only "luck" WoW ever had is that Blizzard decided to make it; and Blizzard isn't lucky, they're just a near-perfect company (you can argue if you want, but their success speaks for itself)

Im not claiming that TOR is innovative and I know very, very little about MMO's but these features that you mentioned

-Leveling System wherein you improve and specialize your character, to "unlock" endgame content
-Class+Specialization system that uses the Trinity, Talent Trees, Passive Boosts as well as Abilities to improve itself
-Fleshed out Character Models and Animations, with more than 1 Wireframe (in TOR's case, Wireframes with a set of animations, in WoW's case 16 at launch)
is it not possible that they were lifted and enhanced from KOTOR? a game released before WOW? and yes these features were probably lifted from games prior to even KOTOR but maybe not directly from WOW?
The leveling system is not similar to KOTOR's in any way, except that you... gain numerical levels
The Class+Spec system in KOTOR did not use a Trinity, because it was a single player game
KOTOR did not have Fleshed out character models.... it had like 2 player model wireframes

@CL60: You're correct that TOR doesn't have "terrible graphics"; and also correct that its good for the game to be playable on low-end systems.  But you are incorrect in saying that it looks better than WoW.  TOR's graphics are on par with models/content from 2008 World of Warcraft; specifically the character models, which look slightly better than the Blood Elves/Draenei released in 2007, yet far worse than the Worgen/Goblins released in 2010

It's unfair to chastise WoW players for bashing TOR; when BioWare implements things like "Blizz the Jawa", insulting our benefactors and showing it off at E3

I think its safe to say the game won't actually have 200 hours of leveling content.  That's a nice thing to market; but its impractical

Does the game look better graphically, than what we've seen publicly; when it is set to max settings?

Yes, there's an NDA on the Beta; and people testing the game are bound to it, but its not illegal or anything for us to view beta information, should it be leaked.  CL60 has been pretty helpful with showing us a variety of information

The problems with the graphics are
A; Good environments, bad characters — think like Grand Theft Auto IV, but the emphasis of the game is on your character, who looks bad...
B; As in other ways, it's being compared to WoW, and WoW's current graphics are a lot better

I love how you chooses what points to respond to. I notice you left my post of you being proven totally and utterly wrong alone.

Which post is that?
