I love how "the Call of Duty crowd" has become a cartoonish mass of bro-ness to pin everything we don't like on, as if simplified and straight-faced action never existed or sold before 2007. What's wrong with just saying that the game is going for a more serious angle? Why drag an entirely unrelated game into it? Besides, if anything, I got more of a Gears vibe from what we saw.

You know what's truly terrible? Music and movie fanboys. I'll take your average game fanboy over the bile-filled hatebags in those communities any day. But I'm not going to stop listening to/playing music or watching movies because of them. That would be insane.

You're not paying for Twitch, you're paying for Giant Bomb. Would you blame GB if a video on their Youtube page craps out?

That's exactly it. There are a LOT of people who get the entirety of their gaming knowledge from what's on store shelves. More than there are of us. Microsoft isn't going to tumble from their money tower any time soon.

And while the XB1 looks pretty dire to us, it's not without merit. It'll probably be an excellent machine when it boils down to actually playing a video game. It's fun to root for Sony right now, and it sends a good message as to what consumers want, but I don't think it's fair to write off the One entirely. Unless something crazy happens, the Xbox brand isn't going anywhere. And as always, that's a good thing. The last thing anybody needs is a one console future, as much as fanboys may drool over the idea. (There's still Nintendo, of course, but... yeah)

I'm not saying MS isn't going to be hurting pretty hard come launch, but the "MS is dead" talk is super hyperbolic.

I'm trying to picture Brad and Vinny truly angry right now, and it's simply impossible. I just cannot imagine such a thing, and shame on the thief/thieves for making the impossible happen in such a shitty way.

For real, though, I still can't believe that this happened. It sucks enough on its own, but after all the good vibes leading up to it? That's really, really shitty.
