Just admit it -- you guys have some kind of marketing deal with Atlus, right?

Yeah, if it weren't for the high price I'd definitely go with a Samsung. I have a 19" ViewSonic LCD that's lasted me really well, but I think it's time to upgrade to widescreen.

We should be allowed to search for users on GB rather than have to go through the huge lists in alphabetical order. Just a suggestion.

"Sorry for making another topic, but I didn't want to go off-topic on the other thread.

Basically, I'm in the market for an Xbox 360 after selling mine almost a year ago. (I have this uncontrollable urge to play Fable II, Gears of War 2, etc.) Money is tight as I am a college student, but I just returned my 16GB iPod Touch because I felt like I would get more enjoyment out of a 360.

I want the best bang for my buck. I never really cared about the hard drive size until NXE, where we can now download actual game discs onto the hard drive. So this brings me to my dilemma: 60GB Holiday Bundle for $299 or 120GB Elite Holiday Bundle for $399? Is one more stable than the other in terms of the Red Ring? What really pops out about the Elite that the Premium doesn't have? It comes with an HDMI cable, but I've seen them go for like $5 online.

I really want to get the new Jasper chip, but it doesn't look like there is any clear consensus on whether or not they are actually out yet. (For the record, I plan to buy off Amazon.com.)"
You say money is tight, yet you had enough money for a 360 back then, and enough for a 16GB iPod now????

Fuck you, you rich bastard.

Money is tight if you have to choose between filling car up to get to work/school or starve.
Money is tight, when you have to take a bicycle to parties because you can't afford a car.
Money is tight when you have a cassette player for music instead of an MP3 player because you simply cannot afford one.

Stop trying to play the poor game just because you are a college student because that is simply not true.
The average college student has the means to throw a party involving lots of alcohol which cost a lot of money. The average college student has the means to travel in general which cost a lot of money as well.

You don't know how good you have it.

To answer your original question, none of them is RROD proof since Jeff's elite RRODing on him is living proof of that. If money is really tight you wouldn't even ask that question. God!!! its like Mike Tyson filling for bankruptcy with you.....

Hey look here punk. You have no idea the hardship I'm forced to go through right now in this economy just to pay for my college education. No, I'm not some stuck up rich kid who sees a $300 iPod Touch as nothing, but I'm only human. I work 30 hours a week and take on a full course load at a very cutthroat competitive school just to get by. I don't care for your definition of being "strapped for cash" because for me, it means that I hardly have any money left at the end of the month for me to enjoy myself when other students here get by with their parents' money and can buy whatever they want. It's constantly work and study every single day for me, and I have to always remind myself what I'm working for so I don't just give up one day. I thought I'd invest whatever little money I currently have that could keep my sane for the next couple of years, so I don't think I deserve to be bombarded with your attacks for that.

I actually don't plan on upgrading, as I am a poor college student and can't really afford to have a kickass gaming machine in my dorm. I'm actually planning on playing either the 360 or PS3 through my computer's monitor and playing some of the PC exclusives on the side.

Now when you say that I would only be able to run games on medium settings, do you mean medium settings with the max res? Or would I have to tone down the res as well?

I'm just kinda afraid that if I tone down the res it'll look real bad because it is such a big screen.

I have dual 7800GTs in SLI, which were quite good at the time. I haven't upgraded in a while, so I'm not sure how they hold up in today's games. I'm currently on a 19" running 1280x1024. Will today's games (Fallout 3, Call of Duty: World at War, etc.) run choppy on my computer with max res with a 22" widescreen?

Some other specs if it helps:
AMD 64 X2 4200+ @ 2.5GHz
2GB Ram

But I'm primarily concerned with if my video cards can handle such a big screen at max res.

"I hate Gametrailers. I don't know how so many people can stand going to that site. Anyway, I can definitely see why this video pissed off PS3 fans. My suggestion would be to stop going to GT. :)"
GT is an awesome site. Their retrospectives are always flawless and I find most of their reviews spot on. Not to forget it has the biggest collection of HD videos.
