1. Shin Megami Tensei
If you saw my other list, you can see why this would be on the top. This series is amazing. It has a ton of ideas flying around in all of the games. Each one feels like a new story while still adhering to things that you remember about the last one, spells and demons and whatnot. There is just way to much to talk about that I cannot do justice to these games unless I talked about each one separately.
These games are character and story driven. The characters can be so complex that it is truly amazing for a video games, which sadly have the sigma of have pretty flat characters. However I personally don't believe that, but that's is a whole another issue.
Oh and the music for these games is awesome as well. Shoji Meguro has become my favorite video game composer because of these games.
It must be weird to see such a mature series above all this kid/family ones, but my first SMT game was actually DemiKids (Devil Children in Japan) and that was a kids game. Weird hu?
Out of all the SMT games, Persona 4 is my favorite. Why? Cause it awesome. I love the story and all (well ok most) of the characters. A close second is the Digital Devil Saga games. I have to put those two together since they don't make sense as a story on their own.
Yep. I've liked Pokemon for a really long time. They are just fun games to play, and even some of the spinoffs are fun. No really, go give Mystery Dungeon Time/Space/Sky a try. The game is fun and the story is really good (and kinda dark) for a kid's game.
Out of all the Pokemon games, 3rd gen (Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald) is my favorite. Blaziken for life.
3. Jak and Daxter
More in terms of the original trilogy, don't care too much for the newer games (Daxter was fun though). But I played the first three so many times I had (and still have) major portions of the dialogue memorized.
Out of all the Jak and Daxter games, Jak II is my personal favorite. It's played that one the most and got my ass kicked by it the most.
4. Sly Cooper
Not sure how many people still remember this series, but I sure do. When I was younger, I only got to play the first and second game, never got the third one. But I loved them and still do. I was finally able to get around to play the third one with the release of the HD collection, and I loved it.
Out of all the Sly games, I would have to say the first one is my favorite, Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus.
5. The Legend of Zelda
Yeah yeah. Keep it to yourself. I'm a sucker for a good LoZ game.
My personal favorite is actually one that the fans don't like as much. Yep, my favorite LoZ game is Wind Waker. Don't know why, I just loved sailing on the wide open sea and I adore the art design. I'm also a sucker for a good looking cell shaded game.
