What Phil Fish said was dickish and he reacted poorly, but I write it off just as I do when Jeff tells people to "Fuck off idiot" on ForumSpring. Neither are completely unjustified in what they have said in a public forum, even if staying silent would have been more mature. Doesn't spoil my enjoyment of the things they create.

Edit: But to the OP's original point. I dunno about Fish. Dude just disappeared after Fez released. Maybe he's working on more puzzles and fake alphabets.

While I think there`s plenty of blame to go around for all the controversy (journalists who are complicit, sites that abuse it for pageviews, etc etc) I find the idea that Giant Bomb should just be our wacky entertainment puppets to be kind of gross. This site is supposedly be funny and pleasant and entertaining, but it`s also not meant to be just a more goofy Gamespot. Giant Bomb has always had a deeper and more opinionated edge, and that should never go away.

While I agree that deep, concise stuff is great for the site, GB can't go low-brow one moment and high-brow when it wants to join the angry mob. Sorry, but if your editorial content (and that's what most of the site's content, from articles to quick looks to TNTs, is) is all over the fucking place, you should be called out for it, and GB is wildly inconsistent when they endorse a game that revels in vulgarity while waggling the fingers at booth babes.

I bowed out of the conversation in favor of sleep last night, but thanks for what you wrote. Your reply was to the heart of what I was getting at.

What I don't need is other men telling me how I should feel about sex appeal in advertising. I come to Giant Bomb for entertainment and news about entertainment, not to be given one sanctimonious platitude after another. Frankly it is pretty off putting from a site that once made me laugh about Peter Molyneux's balls and Cards Against Humanity.

This.

It's getting ridiculous.

Deeper opinions and edge as it applies to games is fine. This is a topic about allowing female models to attend the event. This is tangentially associated with games and isn't something that really matters to us as the event isn't for us. If journalists and developers feel like they can't work in the environment provided, then that needs to be discussed with those in charge of E3, not the public that isn't invited inside the doors. Sure it is on TV. I watched a lot of that coverage and didn't notice much in the way of these women. I did see a lot of Sessler, Geoff, Molyneux, Reggie, and Aisha Taylor. My point was that this is a mountain out of a mole hill and I'd like to see Giant Bomb cover games and industry stuff that matters, not act like dancing jesters for my amusement.

I've been trying to figure out some eloquent post that would sum up all of my feelings around this matter, but alas it is 1AM and I've been at work all day. I'm tired... Tired from a days work, but also tired from hearing nothing but rattling sabers since E3 started. I disagree with this article. I don't think that booth babes are that big of a deal or that Hitman and Tomb Raider are sexist vessels of male power fantasy. I do think the industry is doing okay at growing and it will continue to do so as long as it exists. Too bad this has been the focus of games coverage for over a week.

Why is this topic even being brought to us, the game playing public, if E3 isn't even for us? This seems like a discussion that needs to happen between game companies, event organizers, and the press. For now I'm done. I just hope this all blows over soon and this site starts talking about games again.

(Edited for grammer/context. I said I was tired.)

I've bought Fallout 3 four times and Fallout New Vegas twice. I've bought two copies of a lot of BioWare games. I tend to buy the PC versions of some RPGs when they go on a Steam sale after having played the console version. Did that with Saints Row the Third as well.

I've already got the games I want for NES, SNES, and PS2, so I'll have to say PC. PC is kind of a no brainer anyway. It is the biggest value, biggest library, and has the (usually) best version of multiplatform games. Getting a PC that can run every game might be a pain. I say this as a guy that mostly plays games on consoles. PC just makes sense to me.

Also, as someone who has been on the short end of a failed startup company; my deepest sympathies go our to these guys. I hope the talented folks who lost their jobs land on their feet quickly. Nice to see all of the support pouring out over Twitter right now.

I've requested to join twice, but every time I get an invite I won't let me join. Is there some time limit on these things?
