Hello everyone! I know that it's Monday morning and not Sunday night, but, my weekend was... ridiculous. Anyway!
Let's start with the new thing, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Finally started that up, decided to just not worry about the DLC characters. Truthfully, there aren't any characters I'm particularly in love with in those packs, except maybe Carnage, so, I'll live. I'm only a little ways in, but, initial impressions? It's good, but not as good as its predecessor. Just not having the same impact. I think the problem is that it keeps the formula from Marvel Ultimate Alliance but tries to take a much more serious tone. It just doesn't resonate the same and, simply put, isn't as much fun with the story. Deadpool is still all about breaking the fourth wall delightfully, though, which is grand. Gameplay is the same, although there are some UI things that are a little clunky, nothing game breaking, but definitely not helpful. There's still more to play and see, so, I'll let y'all know how it progresses.
Played some Halo 3: ODST earlier in the week. My Halo 3 multiplayer friend wanted to do some Achievement playing so we beat it on Legendary. And that's all on that subject.
Persona 3 continues to be awesome. I will say that the team is more eclectic than Persona 4, which I think is great. There's a robot girl, a little kid, and a dog on my team. It's pretty great that there's a section where I try to take the dog to the movie. So weirdly Japanese in a completely lovable way.
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon also continues to be good. The combat got a little bit more frustrating with a couple of boss battles, meaning I couldn't just run past it, but, nothing I couldn't handle. I think I'm nearing the end. Also, final note for this week, and if you follow my Twitter account you saw this already, but the pet memories may be the absolute worst. They're the most depressing thing in the game for me, with the exception of the little boy with his balloon.
And then a little more Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. This week, I discovered the Command Board and basically just played that. It's addicting but wildly frustrating. As far as I can tell, in the five or six games I played of it, the "luck" seems to be weighed heavily in favor of the AI opponents. The number of "lucky" rolls they get to help them on their way to win is completely absurd. Even so, it's a great way to level your command deck, so, I'll take it.
And that's it for this week. A little bit of a slower week than the last couple. Only in the number of hours played not the number of games, of course. I'll see y'all next week!
