Combine that with all of the awful set piece moments (which happen almost all the time in one form or another), mostly uninteresting story delivered over far too long a campaign and cheap deaths from quick time events and your left with Mercenaries as the only high point in the game and they even locked out half of the maps from those who didn't pre-order at the right place. People not completely understanding how the game plays (which is the fault of the game) are still capable of seeing all the rest of the garbage the game so proudly displays.
The combat's fairly good. If it wasn't, mercenaries would be terrible. It plays well, so mercenaries is fun.
And yeah, I will keep telling myself that. People who know how to play the game don't think it is complete shit like Patrick, Brad and the people they surround themselves with do. It's fairly obvious they've got no clue about what they're doing by what they've said in quick looks and podcasts.
