I dont see a problem they can always quit if its to hard for them. Its supply and demand here. As long as someone is willing to work harder for lesser pay, then they should do it. If they need to pay more to get the job done correctly then they will.
We haven't read your paper so It might be crap...and most soldiers are not heroes by default. They just get pushed into situations that heroism is needed, so they react accordingly.
