Yeah, I mean I'm generally more forgiving of microtransactions and such in games as long as I have in game ways to complete everything without having to take part in that. Some people have more money than time and that's OK.
But I also like completing stuff and forcing me to go outside the game to do that is not cool. That is intrusive and distracting. This is not how you should be encouraging people to use your services. It should be something we want to use, not something our game that we paid for is held hostage over.
If Sony or Microsoft introduce a new version of their console where some games will only work on that version, the internet would be up in arms. Nintendo does it = All praise Nintendo.
