ESssssssssss Ranku!

A (very) short list of the games I've S-ranked.

List items

  • This game is an easy 200 points, but the achievement that requires you to reach level 50 is grindtastic.

  • This actually requires a bit of skill to S-rank. The 400,000 point achievement was the hardest to reach. The consensus is to play Extra Mode 3, ignore the ghosts, and go for the fruit. I actually did it by using that strategy on Challenge Mode 1.

  • Bethesda's games are very easy to S-rank, provided you buy the DLC, but they take a lot of time. There's only one missable achievement, which is Duke/Dutchess of Mania/Dementia (once you choose one path, you can't go down the other), which I managed to mess up on my first playthrough. So I had to start a new game and go all the way back through the Shivering Isles to get it. What a pain in the ass.

  • Another Bethesda game, another S-rank. Again, the achievements are easy to get, but you do have to pay a bit of attention in order to keep from screwing yourself out of them. Several levels - 8, 14, 20, and 30 - are "karmic checkpoints," where you get different achievements for being good, bad, or neutral. The key is to save before you level up, get the achievement, reload, and change your karma before leveling up again.

Also, you can screw yourself out of the Alien Captive Recordings achievement if you don't pay attention. Several parts of Mothership Zeta get locked off once you venture further into the ship.

  • Lego Batman is a pretty easy 1000 points. Where I got hung up was that I played through a lot of it in co-op. This messes up your progress for a couple of achievements, like rescuing all civilians, so you have to play through each level to make sure that you've found everything on your own. There's also one minifig canister, where you have to slide down and slalom through five gates, that is a pain in the ass to get.

  • 102 hours. That's how much time I spent playing this game. LO is not that long of a JRPG, but I spent dozens of hours trying to find every treasure chest in that game to get the Treasure Trove achievement. And you know what? I went through the same area five times before I found that fucking chest. But when it was done, my God was it glorious! I saw that the chest was unopened. I took a breath. I pressed A. The item came out. Plink! FUCK YES!!!!!

  • Pretty easy S-rank; I don't think there's one rare achievement in there. I deleted my save, so I had to start all over in order to get Bloodlines (just stock up on hearts, get the holy water, and spam Hydro Storm) and Seeker. Seeker is the most time consuming (I think it took like 6 hours to find all 1890 rooms) but really easy if you have a map handy.

  • This is the easiest S-rank that I've gotten so far. I was sweating the 2,000,000 point achievement. I turned the tables on my ghost train with 5 seconds to go and just squeaked out the points.

  • This is pretty easy, though takes some time commitment to get. You have to beat the game twice, which is not a problem given how good the story is. Even without the achievement I would have gone through twice to get both endings. The only relatively difficult achievement is to get all of the Vigils. There are a few that require a bit of work, like killing 10 enemies with one Scrap Musket shot.

  • Third Bethesda game on here, and I'm happy that I ground out the achievements before any DLC is released. Like the other Bethesda games on the list, this was not a terribly difficult s-rank to get, but it is very time-consuming. The quest to restore the Thieves Guild took the longest of the bunch, simply because I wasted a lot of time taking on extra jobs that didn't count towards the "special jobs." I left the "1000 bounty in nine holds" quest until last, meaning that I ended my time playing Skyrim with a lot of murder.
