Whew. Things got a little heated during the Halo v Psychonauts talk. But wow, I didn't expect Jan to make me want to play GotG that bad. I was planning to skip it, but now I'm thinking that'd be a mistake.
It's legit one of the best stories I've seen in a game in a while. The combat is average to above average, but rarely is that game not fun or interesting. I highly recommend it.
@skullcrushermountain: That's what I was getting at, as far as I can tell it doesn't take anywhere near 10 hours of playing this game to acquire the traversal skills, I believe most of it is tied to main quests which is why I posted that I think he's been futzing around with side stuff for 10 and done maybe a main quest or two in this video. DL1 is the same exact way and I loved it. You start off pretty underpowered and every zombie is scary, by the end you are literally spiderman and a single zombie goes down like nothing. The journey/build is interesting to me but I can totally see why someone like Jeff doesn't enjoy it. I just wish GB had someone on staff still who was willing to play these types of games without nitpicking every little thing so Jeff didn't have to and he could go play apex/cod or whatever.
But also - he's only level 2 after 10 hours of playing? Something's jacked about the game's progression system fundamentally, I think.
I think Jeff needs to get farther into the game to unlock more traversal stuff and that would solve alot of the stuff he's complaining about. I know the game doesn't make it clear but running around doing random side stuff early on is not ideal for having a good time in these games.
Being 10 hours into a game and not having basic traversal options is incredibly bad game design.
I've been all in since Arrow Pointing Down, but this is the first time I'll let my sub lapse.
Significant staff departures over the last few years... Dan, Vinny, Brad, Alex. Jeff is great, easily my favorite after Ryan, but I don't think he can carry the site.
I really don't think any of this content is as good when the people aren't in the same room. It's even worse when it's just one person streaming alone. To be fair, I changed my job to maintain the ability to work from home when that went away at my company, so it's hard for me to tell other people to go to the office.
I barely recognize the site and many of the people on it.
