  • The highest highs and the most miserable lows. Dota 2 is punishment when you're learning it and absolutely sublime when your friends work as a team to wipe out the opposition. Dota 2 will take hundreds of hours to learn and (almost) every single one of them is just fun. Also, its Free.

  • This will be remembered as a game that closed the gap between videogame logic and storytelling a little more. Its has amazing story, believable characters and a dark, miserable, expertly designed world. Its the best game one could ever hope for to close off the PS3 era.

  • Few game worlds can leave you in awe the first time you see them like the one in Infinite does. Blasting through skylines, combining magical powers with an arsenal of weapons and a fun time traveling story makes this a fantastic game.

  • When a touching, incredibly well told story makes something meaningful out the device you're controlling it you know its special.

  • A great strategy RPG where your characters can die and you care about every single one of them.

  • Make a sequel to A link to the Past inside the world of A Link to the Past. That's all Nintendo needs to make a wonderful game.

  • Proving that 2-D platformers are not dead and they are just getting better. And those graphics and animations are just superb.

  • The best Castlevania rogue like ever. You will die and you will love it.

  • The best pirate that stabs dudes a lot game ever made.

  • While he does not have white hair, DMC reinvents the franchise with great results. Its got style, the combat is great and the Bob Barbas/Fox News sequence is just incredible.

  • Finally, a good Crackdown sequel. Robot sex scenes give it extra points.

  • 80's cheese on my Far Cry 3 is so good. An open world FPS where you battle dinosaurs? More, please.

  • Never has been a spy been so awesome. From the way you move, jump and kill a guard by kicking a door open to the fantastic Noir like storytelling, Gunpoint is a hidden gem.

  • The mundane task of checking passports in an oppressed, terrorist ridden, fake Russia is surprisingly one of the most intense experiences this year.

  • Im not fond of adventure games but when they do a satire of modern game design and plays with my psychological quirks like The Stanley Parable did, they win me over.

  • Finely told western stories in my shooters makes em stand apart from the crowded genre.

  • This free to play game is the Diablo sequel fans wanted. Its has a gross and dark world where everything wants to kill you and a complex passive skill tree that shapes your character as you level him up.

  • Viva la Super Metroid Mexico!

  • They "Uncharted" Tomb Raider. Which is weird cause Uncharted is modern Tomb Raider. Anyway, its a good game where Lara is a survivor that turns into a killing machine way to quickly.

  • Finally a worthy follow up to Chaos Theory. Blacklist modernizes Splinter Cell making it more accessible but not a lesser game with its multiple paths through levels.
